This time we only spent a night in Soca valley - last-minute booking.
No regrets - everything as described, and Vlado indeed a very warm host (you can feel the kind of hospitality).
In the afternoon short hike (1.5h up + down) to Bučenica hill just behind the apartment, which offers lovely views onto the valley and neighboring mountains. Vlado's neighbors also responded very friendly to our greetings, which I think demonstrates his attitude to guests as well as local community.
Most na Soci is walking distance (1.2km) with very nice cafe/pizzeria and few other restaurants.
If you look at the map, the main road looks close, but the noise from bikers that flood the Soca valley on sunny weekends is somehow dispersed due to location well below the surface of the main road.
Therefore 5* rating.
ps. minor remark: seems there's another apartment adjacent, separated only by artificial wall of "Styrofoam", and we could clearly hear other guests, which luckily were a quiet polite couple. Though, considering that mr. Podgornik is not accepting "party animals" :-), I guess this is not an issue.

Vlado was a lovely host - very accommodating and willing to help us with any information we wanted, and supply us with everything he could. The apartments and accompanying pool were nice and perfect for the kind of holiday we wanted. While due to neighbours we had to keep noise outside to a minimum, Vlado never complained about our loud antics late a night (we're a group of students), which made for a relaxed atmosphere. The location was great, close to the river and to a supermarket, nice restaurants and a petrol station.
