“An absolute gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

Hard to fault the stay - very impressive clean hotel, just like new, hard to believe it is nearly five years old, we thought it had just been built!
Staff - excellent
Bedrooms - large and well laid out with a good size TV! Bathrobe and slippers provided. Double bed has two single duvets - a bit weird!
Bathroom - large, fab shower, impressive bath tub! Excellent hairdryer!
Food - fresh and well cooked but very much Slovenian Style as one would expect
Aqua park - wet (and great fun). Free access to hotel guests and towels provided
Plenty to do in the hotel bowling, free wifi, collection of books, bar, swimming and just admiring the scenery
Location - superb, but be aware it is a lovely sleepy area there is no night life (suited me down to the ground). Perfect distance for a bike ride to Bohinj Lake (6km), lots of walking available and only 30 min from Bled by bus - well worth a visit. Ljubljana (about an hr on the bus) is also worth visiting.
Smoking - whilst it prevalent we were pleased that it is restricted to outside.
By a discount card from the local tourist info shop. With it you gain 50% discount on electric boat trip on Bohinj lake, discount on cable car up to Vogel Mountain plus others, which I can't remember.
A great overall stay/holiday in a fantastic little, clean, safe country!

Room Tip: Ask for a high room, most rooms have fantastic views

Whilst the minimalistic modern style of the hotel might not appeal to some looking for a more cosy ambiance, it suited our needs perfectly for our first visit to Slovenia and to explore the beautiful Triglav national park. The rooms were stylish and comfortable and as you would expect from a country that prides its self on cleanliness, the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. It is clearly a very well managed establishment with very well trained staff both on reception and in the restaurant. A small issue with our room allocation was professionally dealt on our arrival and I was most impressed by the restaurant staff who were always attentive, friendly and unobtrusive all at the same time which is a rare skill. All food is presented buffet style which does not lend it self to a gourmet experience with the fish dishes particularly affected. However you will not go hungry as there is plenty of choice and dishes are constantly replenished. A particular highlight for my wife at dinner who has a sweet tooth were the mini desserts, where it seemed rude not to to have at least one of each selection! We made use of the excellent adjacent swimming pool which you could access via an underground tunnel, when it rained one afternoon. However as you would expect on such a day this was very busy and after I attemped to show the locals how to traverse the climbing wall, we soon retreated to the much quieter sauna area on the upper floor that we made use of most days and is included in the room rate. Although this is a very pleasant area it's traditional design does not really match the rest of the complex and perhaps could do with an upgrade to blend in with the over all design. Our stay coincided with the end of the holiday season, but was blessed with good weather. The highlight of our holiday was getting either the boat a or bus to the top of Bohinj lake and walking back along the north shore and stopping to sunbathe, picnic, and swim in the crystal clear water from a secluded beach which we did a couple of times. The Walk up the Mostnice gorge from Stara Fuzina came a close second on , and then of course there is Bled down the road, another picturesque lake to expore... Overall, I would really recommend this excellant hotel to those who are reasonable active but are also looking for a relaxing break in the glorious countryside.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are south west facing and have the best views of the mountains.

I stayed here two nights with family in Summer. I can't fault this hotel. The bed and pillows were comfortable, nice addition of a bath robe and slippers and free Wifi. I thought the bathrooms were one of the best I've seen. Very stylish. I liked the addition of the shampoo/shower gel being attached on the wall of the shower and near the sinks. Makes it more convenient. We also had access to the aquapark where you could swim ,outdoors or indoors. Indoor pool had a waterslide so would be fun for kids. We ate buffet breakfast/dinner there. Very filling. There is a bar there in which i did use and ordered a cocktail. Nice chairs outside to sit and talk and sip on a drink after dinner. Wonderful views of the mountains. A nice place to relax. highly recommended.

Slovenia was a very good experience. Very beautifull nature and very clean. Here the people have the good habit of not throwing waste along the paths. You do not find everywhere cola cans, bags, ..
Hotel is very good. On some moments the diner was busy and it was difficult to find a place for a family with 5 persons. But this was a minor problem.
Rooms are clean with more than enough towels that also be used in the aquapark. For children the aquapark is very good and included in the price.
During the night the temperature in the rooms is too high as airco is automatically switched off. End of July it was very warm so some extra cooling would have been welcome.
At the reception, very friendly and helpfull people that speak very good English.

We stayed here for 7 nights in August. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. The pool area is great, having both an indoor and outdoor area to choose from. There was always loungers available any time we went even when the pool are was fairly busy. The spa area was nice and relaxing.
There was a good choice in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only minor faults we could comment on are lack of availability of an iron/ironing board in the room and our double bed having two single duvets, with no option for sheets even if very warm.

Overall a good choice for a relaxing break in this area with plenty of options for outdoor activities and lots of excursions available.

Room Tip: We specified a mountain view room which gave great views looking over the Julian Alps. We were on th...

We stayed here for 9 nights in August. This is quite a long stay for this hotel, and it was quite unusual for the staff! They gave us an extra discount for staying so long.

The staff at the hotel are welcoming and friendly. They do their best to make your stay pleasant. the staff in the restaurant are very nice, always cleaning away plates and restocking the food. The food was always varied with a number of different dishes to try each night. The salad bar was divine, and the desserts were to die for!

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from Lake Bohinj, so you are best to have a car. We used the hotel as a base to explore this beautiful country, and it's around 2 hours from Piran/Croatian border. You can cycle to the lake by hiring bikes from Hike and Bike in the town, or from the hotel directly. It took us about 40 minutes to cycle a very pleasant cycle track.

The rooms in the hotel were exceptionally clean and well kept.

If I had to criticise anything, its that there are outside areas to sit in after dinner, but there are no lights, so you can only sit and chat, not play cards or anything. It's minor, but we might have spent longer outside in the evening if we could see.

The swimming pool is brilliant - all included in the price of the room, and you can use it all day if you like. It's clean and well looked after. There is also a bowling alley which was fun and inexpensive.

All in all, this hotel is really nice!
