“Lovely place to stay, very relaxing!”
Reviewed 24 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We stayed here for the first time and have never felt so relaxed anywhere else we have rented. Such a peaceful place. The property is excellent, has everything that you need and is in the perfect location especially if, like us, you will be taking your dog. The cottage is very clean, warm, cosy and inviting, has just about everything you need inside, a delightful garden outside and it's in an outstanding location, in a decidedly pretty and unspoiled riverside village. The local pub was undergoing renovations when we were there, but it looks like it will be turned into a dog-friendly gastro pub and will open again in May, so another plus for the location. There is information in the cottage to help you find boat hire and other attractions, but to be honest we were just happy to be very lazy, relaxing and just going out to watch the boats and walk by the river during our all too short stay. No hesitation recommending this and really hope to return again soon.

Management Response
30 Apr 2017
Thank you for taking the time to write, we're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and were comfortable at the cottage. The village pub, the Lion Inn, changed hands a short time ago and is now in the capable hands of the owners of the well respected 'White Horse' in Neatishead, Norfolk. It's due to re-open on or around 19th May according to their Facebook page, so along with all the other things that make Thurne such a lovely village, we're now also looking forward to having a great pub that serves great food only a short stroll away from the cottage!

“A beautiful and very comfortable cottage”
Reviewed 2 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

A beautiful little cottage in a lovely setting. We previously stayed at another cottage in Norfolk that we would have booked again but unfortunately it had been sold and Ramblers Rest was recommended to us. I didn't think we could beat the last cottage but the location of Ramblers is absolutely idyllic and the cottage itself, although smaller, was perfect for us. There are plently of places of interest nearby and some very good pubs and restaurants within a few minutes drive, the Kings Arms at Fleggburgh and Filby Bridge were recommended and rightly so. We enjoyed our walks by the river and discovering more of this part of Norfolk along with evenings in front of the fire. The cottage was clean, comfortable, very well-equipped and came with a very welcome goody pack. Would definitely recommend to other travellers.

“The perfect cottage in an outstanding location!”
Reviewed 17 December 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Despite previous visits to Norfolk we had never heard of Thurne, but this tiny conservation village is as pretty as a picture and the cottage itself was perfect for us. Comfortable, very nicely furnished and with everything you need for a relaxing break. We enjoy being able to go out for meals or cook in, and the cottage kitchen is superbly equipped for a holiday cottage. We liked the village and this cottage so much in fact that we have booked to come back in the summer and, from speaking to other people we met, Thurne seems to be one of those villages that, once people discover it, they return to it for a holiday time and time again. We're very glad we found this cottage and have no hesitation in recommending it.
