“Brilliant place to stay”
Reviewed 15 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We were realy impressed with this cottage, so clean and comfortable and everything you could wish for, better equipped than my own house. one of the best places we have stayed in. went home feeling realy relaxed, but sorry to leave. lovely walks on the door step, good pub just down the road which does good food. and within a few miles of the broads cruises and sandy beaches. We will certainly be re-booking next year .

“Very attractive, comfortable and practical cottage with lots to do within easy reach.”
Reviewed 13 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This cottage was a delightful choice for our holiday. The interior is attractive and comfortable; the garden is perfect for alfresco dining. The beds are great, the kitchen had everything we needed, the shower is excellent. We took our dog and enjoyed the walks through the fields and around the village. The owners are friendly and ready to help. I wish the holiday had been longer!

“Ultimate peace and relaxation”
Reviewed 17 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had the most relaxing week at Pip and Andrews cottage in Thurne. The house was incredibly well equipped (probably better than our own!), really clean and the location was just perfect. The pub up the road had a great selection of food and ciders and there were a huge choice of lovely towns and villages within a short drive. The house is pet friendly and the garden was perfect for the dog as was the lovely field walk right in front of the house. It would be a perfect stay for a young family - (there is a playground 20 seconds walk away) or a couple, it is very cosy - lots of games, dvds and books to use as well as very little phone signal and no wifi which was my favourite part - complete peace and seclusion!

“Picture perfect cottage”
Reviewed 29 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We have stayed in this cottage a few times now and we simply love it. This part of Norfolk is beautiful, timeless and unspoilt with dog walks and cycling opportunities, wildlife and photographic inspirations aplenty.
Thurne is a riparian village possessed of its own staithe. It is idyllic to see the boats moored up alongside the windmills.
There is a wonderful pub, run by award winning proprietors, serving fab home cooked food with some delightful ales.
The cottage itself is perfectly appointed, beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated with rustic accents. It is so quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
It was an added bonus that dogs are welcome too, although we would never have known as the place is so clean.
Everything about the cottage is so well thought out, it is a real home away from home. The owners are charming, welcoming and attractive.
My husband is fond of the garden, complete with its own barbecue. I am personally a fan of the Logburner, just ideal for cosy nights in with a book or a film from the collection available within.
I really cannot recommend this property enough, it is marvellous. You will not find better.

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed 26 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Just spent 2 weeks at Ramblers Rest in Thurne and had a wonderful time.
The cottage is nice and clean and very well equipped along with a lovely welcome pack.
There is a lovely garden at the rear of the cottage where you can sit and totally relax listening to the birds.
Easy off-road parking which is well secure.
Beautiful walks around the village, countryside and broads.
If it's peace and tranquility you are looking for this is the place for you.
Look forward to returning.

“Ramblers rest”
Reviewed 8 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A wonderful 2 bedroom cottage in a small but perfectly formed village. The cottage is warm, welcoming and full of extras which made our stay really special. This really is a home from home. The garden is beautiful and on a warm summers evening it would be a perfect place to have a BBQ. The village has a small shop, a small play park and a pub (which was being refurbished when we stayed). Locally there are lots of walks along the broads. To explore Norfolk fully, you really do need a car though. Beaches, bewilderwood and canoeing all huge favourites of ours.

Hi and thank you for taking the time to review Ramblers Rest Cottage, Thurne. We're so pleased you had a lovely holiday in the Norfolk Broads and enjoyed your stay at the cottage, and it's great to hear about your days out including Bewilderwood and beaches. We're all looking forward to the re-opening of the village pub at the end of this week (hopefully on 19 May 2017), it's been taken over by the owners of the award nominated White Horse Inn in nearby Neatishead, so will be great to have a pub with a good reputation for food within walking distance of the cottage.
Thanks again and we hope you'll stay with us again when you next visit the Norfolk Broads.
Best wishes, Pip & Andrew

“Lovely place to stay, very relaxing!”
Reviewed 24 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We stayed here for the first time and have never felt so relaxed anywhere else we have rented. Such a peaceful place. The property is excellent, has everything that you need and is in the perfect location especially if, like us, you will be taking your dog. The cottage is very clean, warm, cosy and inviting, has just about everything you need inside, a delightful garden outside and it's in an outstanding location, in a decidedly pretty and unspoiled riverside village. The local pub was undergoing renovations when we were there, but it looks like it will be turned into a dog-friendly gastro pub and will open again in May, so another plus for the location. There is information in the cottage to help you find boat hire and other attractions, but to be honest we were just happy to be very lazy, relaxing and just going out to watch the boats and walk by the river during our all too short stay. No hesitation recommending this and really hope to return again soon.

Thank you for taking the time to write, we're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and were comfortable at the cottage. The village pub, the Lion Inn, changed hands a short time ago and is now in the capable hands of the owners of the well respected 'White Horse' in Neatishead, Norfolk. It's due to re-open on or around 19th May according to their Facebook page, so along with all the other things that make Thurne such a lovely village, we're now also looking forward to having a great pub that serves great food only a short stroll away from the cottage!
