Lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful part of the Norfolk Broads. We were made room feel welcome with a very nice selection of goodies and our dogs were very at home with a lovely fenced garden and loads of walks on the doorstep. So many wonderful places to visit within an easy drive including family friendly beaches and several National Trust properties,we also enjoyed the Fairhaven Water Gardens, well worth a visit. The village of Thurne is very pretty with a little gift shop and the pub is a favourite waterhole. Altogether a very enjoyable holiday.
Great for dog walking on Winterton on sea beach and lunch in The Dunes cafe and also Caister Beach. Seal watching on Horsey Beach. Walking along the Broads and just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Great cottage and Symi (our dog) loved it.
Very clean, comfortable and pleasant cottage. Friendly owners (we met them on way out) but not intrusive. Nice to find a good garden in a holiday cottage - secure for dogs too. Pleasant village with nice riverside location and pub serving good selection of real ale and real ciders, plus decent food and dog friendly. Nice walks nearby and good guides in cottage.
We were realy impressed with this cottage, so clean and comfortable and everything you could wish for, better equipped than my own house. one of the best places we have stayed in. went home feeling realy relaxed, but sorry to leave. lovely walks on the door step, good pub just down the road which does good food. and within a few miles of the broads cruises and sandy beaches. We will certainly be re-booking next year .
This cottage was a delightful choice for our holiday. The interior is attractive and comfortable; the garden is perfect for alfresco dining. The beds are great, the kitchen had everything we needed, the shower is excellent. We took our dog and enjoyed the walks through the fields and around the village. The owners are friendly and ready to help. I wish the holiday had been longer!
We had the most relaxing week at Pip and Andrews cottage in Thurne. The house was incredibly well equipped (probably better than our own!), really clean and the location was just perfect. The pub up the road had a great selection of food and ciders and there were a huge choice of lovely towns and villages within a short drive. The house is pet friendly and the garden was perfect for the dog as was the lovely field walk right in front of the house. It would be a perfect stay for a young family - (there is a playground 20 seconds walk away) or a couple, it is very cosy - lots of games, dvds and books to use as well as very little phone signal and no wifi which was my favourite part - complete peace and seclusion!
We have stayed in this cottage a few times now and we simply love it. This part of Norfolk is beautiful, timeless and unspoilt with dog walks and cycling opportunities, wildlife and photographic inspirations aplenty.
Thurne is a riparian village possessed of its own staithe. It is idyllic to see the boats moored up alongside the windmills.
There is a wonderful pub, run by award winning proprietors, serving fab home cooked food with some delightful ales.
The cottage itself is perfectly appointed, beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated with rustic accents. It is so quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
It was an added bonus that dogs are welcome too, although we would never have known as the place is so clean.
Everything about the cottage is so well thought out, it is a real home away from home. The owners are charming, welcoming and attractive.
My husband is fond of the garden, complete with its own barbecue. I am personally a fan of the Logburner, just ideal for cosy nights in with a book or a film from the collection available within.
I really cannot recommend this property enough, it is marvellous. You will not find better.
