Went to this pub for a Sunday lunch. Excellent. Although a 5 star rating a couple of minor negatives but nothing at all to do with the food and service.
Lets get the negatives out of the way.
1. Parking is shocking. Basically you park on the road which is narrow and on a bend, some parts having double yellow lines.
2. The small dining area we sat in was next to the main bar area felt as if we were actually sat in the bar as there were customers standing by the bar and somewhat loud. Just 2 small negatives from what was a very nice lunch.
We ordered the Sunday lunch (beef) and this was brought to the table accompanied by a nice Yorkshire pudding and two roast potatoes. [a little bit browner and crisper would have been nice] It was good to see that the plate hadn't been pre-plated. We were then served a gravy boat with gravy that actually tasted 'home made' and not the normal powdered gravy you seem to get these days, and three dishes that had potatoes, mixed vegetables and another of cabbage/cauliflower and green beans. It was nice to plate your own vegetables and gravy.
Overall the meal was very good. Hot, tasty and well presented to the table. Service was good. A very enjoyable lunch and well worth the visit.
The pub has two outside areas for patrons overlooking a small stream. No doubt these would be popular during warm weather.
Will I revisit? You bet.
Well done to all concerned at this venue.
