Had a meal on Sat 26th Oct 2019. We arrived at the pub to a really lovely reception from the land lord and bar staff. Although they had actually ran out of some off the menu due to being extremely busy the food we had was cooked perfectly and served well.
We then stayed on for a good drink and made to feel very welcome.
Landlord even arranged a taxi for us as we stayed later than planned due to good atmosphere.
Lovely evening with friends and will definitely return as we enjoyed the food, drinks, welcome and atmosphere of the pub.

What a little Gem they have here.. Great choice of beer.. Cosy log fire.. And fantastic food.Lots to pick from. The steak was fab and cooked to order. We will definitely be returning.. And thank you to the new landlord/landlady for a lovely welcome see you again soon X

Called in a few times in last couple of weeks and somethings changed. Bar service is great but the food I’m saddened to say is not. Sunday lunch and evening meals. When I asked a regular If there was a different Chef, he replied yes, the regular was sacked without the managers knowledge.

My advice to the owner is to get him back as soon as you can. If not can you tell me where he has gone to work

I cannot give a review of the food as we didn’t stop and left after our initial drink. My partner asked for soda water and was given a very expensive bottled water (obviously bar staff not listening). Sat outside because it was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon and all we could hear was other customers fing and blinding, from the tables next to us. With the service we had already received and the foul language we decided to leave and eat elsewhere.

Booked for sunday lunch , been here before,new landlord but the same high quality sunday lunch ..The only negative is they ask for your debit/credit card for safe keeping when you order and give you a key..we thought it was a joke at first..when you finish your meal you go to the bar and give the key and they unlock a little box for you to pay and use your card at the card machine behind the bar..surely your card is just as safe in your pocket..what is all that about ? ...felt a little uncomfortable with this practice i have to say..surely theres no need for them to keep hold of your card while you eat..weird
