Family trip last summer. Great escape to the jungle. Food was a bit predictable but good quality. Stayed for a week but that may have been a bit long. It is a beautiful resort and amazing beach to explore.

Stayed: August 2017

My family of 5 (2 teenage girls and my 72 year old mom) visited Morgan's Rock and had a fantastic time. The place is beautiful, service is great and the food is wonderful.

The cabins were really cool with a great view of the ocean. Note, there are no tv's in the rooms ( a plus if you ask me) and although there is no a/c in the rooms, they have these really cool air conditioned beds and sleeping was great. You are close to the ocean and so if you want may some ear plugs if the sounds of the waves would be a bother. There are also no blinds and so if you need darkness to sleep in, then bring a sleep mask. Bot the cottage is awesome. (We rented 2 to accommodate the 5 of us).

The other item to note is that you do have to walk up the cottages. If anyone in your group has trouble with stairs then I would take a second look. My mom ended up just coming down once or twice a day and parked herself by the pool and it worked out great. The staff treated her like a queen.

It is about a 2 hour drive from the Managua airport and the last 30 mins are bumpy..for any car sick people. We hired the driver from the hotel and he was very nice. We also did the volcano trip and trip to Lake Nicaragua and that was cool.

Overall, we were very pleased. Beautiful, secluded, quiet, great service, and great food. Worth the trip.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms can be loud due to sounds of waves

This spot is a hidden gem. From almost every spot at this resort you have a view of the water. The rooms are in the style of luxury tree houses and charming. The food is excellent. really great that you can dine at the beach or the restaurant. Very friendly staff

Firstly, please be aware that a few of the lodges require HIKING up 120+ steps to access, so you should enter request something closer to reception or be willing to get an awesome workout climbing in the jungle heat (over a suspension bridge!) - BUT - once you get to your cabin you will be in heaven!!!!!!!!!! When I got to our room the first night, I was tired but delighted to be in the most pimped out treehouse EVER! Fully loaded with the view of a lifetime.

I can't recommend this place enough. From the friendly service to the epic and expansive grounds to the most divine private beach, wonderful pool lounging experience... WOW... this place is fully loaded AND offers jungle adventure, birdwatching, boogie boarding, nice bicycles for mountain biking and monkey sightings :)

Definitely isolated, so you may want to pack in a few snacks from town...

Also, the ocean is SO loud, it didn't bother us, but if you are not used to hearing the roar of the ocean, it might take some getting used to.

LOVED EVERY MINUTE!

I stayed at Morgan's Rock over Memorial Day weekend. Although it rained most of the time, the rain did not negatively impact our experience. The food served at the hotel is likely some of the best in Nicaragua and the staff's attention to detail is incredible. We had a blast and would like to say thank you to Rigo, Alejandro, Carlos, Felix and Eddie for fantastic service.

Tip for Management - Find a new surfing company to use for excursions as it was obvious that the owner of the surfing company was trying to scam me for a broken board that was broken before we received it (also horrible acting job by the owner especially since I understand Spanish). To your credit, you understood and took care of the situation.
