We visited Sysendammen as part of a shore excursion during a Norwegian fjord cruise port stop at Eidfjord, Beautiful views and interesting engineering features of the dam. Nice location to walk and take in the natural beauty.

we called to look at the dam on our way back to Oslo. It was bitterly cold, but the views were worth it. You can walk along the top of the dam wall,

Get a taste of the area passing by the many summer houses in the area. The road is being improved. The view down the valley is impressive. The dam is impressive when one considers the construction method. It is not spectacular, in my opinion, but still an appreciated sight. Information panels are provided and parking is adequate.

Gorgeous views of the surrounding area and farms below and the reservoir behind the dam and the glaciers above. You can walk right on the dam or go down the beach area or roam through the fields. Everywhere you turn is a "pretty picture".

This would be a good place for possibly walking and fishing....with some views available of glaciers, etc, dependent on weather conditions. Whilst not so spectacular in itself, it was impressive to hear that this has been built using individual stones and there were informative boards positioned around. Facilities-wise, be aware that there was no basin to wash hands within the ladies' toilets!
