Having attended a previous wedding at this venue, my daughter chose it for her own, not only due to location, but value for money and service. We weren't disappointed in any way.

From checking in, to checking out, the facilities were excellent, the organisation & wedding package superb, the meal excellent and the staff simply first class.

As an anxious father of the bride I was consulted on things on the day and made to feel at ease by all staff involved. My only regret was not getting names of the two organisers on the day, a lovely young lady in the morning and a great guy in the afternoon.

Having had the same DJ at the previous wedding, and being personally less than impressed, we made sure he played what WE wanted, and at the volume WE liked. He did us proud and never missed a beat all night.

I can't recall a single complaint from anyone attending, other than the drinks prices - OUCH.

Well done to everyone, a grateful and now relaxed dad

Dear Steve W

Many thanks for taking the time out to post a review of your most recent experience on Tripadvisor and at this stage, may I take this opportunity to wish both you and your family a hearty congratulations on the occasion of your daughter's wedding.

We are delighted with your feedback and both Emma and Balazs continue to display our Stay Real behaviours by naturally being themselves, leading to an unforgetable experience.

I will of course pass on your comments to the DJ who I am sure will be delighted that he has exceeded your expectations.

We hope to welcome you back in the very future.

Kind regards

Jonathan

We stayed here as part of a mystery weekend and were pleasantly surprised, not being sure what to expect from a hotel so near to the M1!
The check in process was quick and our room was very well maintained and perfectly clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was possibly the most powerful I have experienced in a hotel. Dinner was included in our deal and although we did not eat a la carte, the carvery selection with soup to start and apple pie for dessert was very appetising. Bar service was good with 2 drinks costing just under £10, as expected for a hotel.
Both the restaurant and the bar area were modern and looked recently refurbished and provided pleasant surroundings in which to relax.
Breakfast the next morning was also excellent with plenty of choice whether you wanted full English or continental. Service was also efficient with coffee and tea brought promptly and tables cleared quickly.
The only thing of note for the stay was that it was difficult to get the room temperature right - either too cold or too hot with the air con unit quite noisy especially during the night.
Although we didn't choose to stay here, we would happily stay again should we need a hotel in the area. All of the staff were friendly throughout our stay.

Having stayed here a year ago for a function and found it fine, but not exceptional, I was delighted to find a vast improvement. The reception staff were smart, friendly and receptive to questions. The cleaning staff were cheerful and the room, whilst one of the smaller units, was immaculate. The biggest change was in the catering..Our function was provided with one of the finest cooked and presented meals I have ever had, anywhere in the World, and certainly much better than I would have paid five times more for in a 'boutique' hotel environment. The Manager came round and personally asked for feedback, the same at breakfast which was really hot and a delight to eat.

At checkout there were people who apparently stay several times a month who shared our opinions of food and service..Well done Holiday Inn Wakefield.

Room Tip: M1 is quite close so a room away from the road may be quieter.

This hotel is situated very close to the M1 although the rooms are quiet. Probably in need of a makeover generally, the rooms are clean and the staff are very polite and helpful. Free parking to the rear with cctv. Breakfast is worth the extra - they have an extensive buffet and will prepare food on request.

Room Tip: They have smoking rooms available on the second floor.
