“A good establishment in Fiera di Primiero”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

We were lucky to find a last-minute vacancy at Tressane just before New Year's Eve and had a double room in the 3-star annexe, with half board tariff of 195 Euro per night. The annexe was suitable although the bathroom door scraped on the floor. The TV was not working but after a visit from the concierge it was fine. Parking was included which was good as the town was really busy. The highlight was the food, the meals were all well presented, varied and served in a classy ambience with gold cutlery. The buffet breakfast was excellent, especially the choice of breads, smallgoods and cheeses. We requested cooked eggs and there was no extra charge. The staff were friendly and polite.
My husband had a massage in the wellness centre, and had a slight reaction to the heated herbal packs they used. Perhaps they were a little too hot.
We noticed a dog on a balcony of the main building one morning, whilst at the entrance there was a sign saying "no dogs permitted".
There were a number of activities including walks in the morning, and musical events in the evenings, however, as we only stayed two nights we did not partake.

Very good position in relation to town. The service, meals and cleaning are proportioned to the hotels of the same class. Unfortunately during our staying temperature in the room was 26°C while outside it was an average temperature of 32°C.. I expected some pianobar afternoons in the garden as reported in the activities mentioned in the website of the hotel but there was none in the whole week we spent there. The garden also seemed to me not so spacious as shown in the photos in relation to the people attending the overall structure if you think that it is comprehensive of 3 hotels (hotel Tressane, Park hotel Iris and Relais le Gemme)

Room Tip: Rooms facing the parking are sunny and are to be avoided on summer because they are very hot

We stayed for 3 nights in June 2012, walking in the wonderful wildflower meadows and forests nearby. The town is charming and has all facilities including friendly bars and an excellent pizza restaurant and gelateria (very important!). The hotel is well-maintained, clean and comfortable. It was very hot during our stay and there is no air-conditioning (not expected) but, unexpectedly, a lot of traffic noise with open windows. Towels are all of the continental thin type (like UK tea-towels), which are common as hand towels but here also as bath towelsnot the fluffy ones we might expect in a hotel of this standard. We only took one dinner during our stay which was very good with excellent service in the restaurant. Breakfasts were excellent although there is a queue for one coffee machine (not the best coffee in Italy). Generally, staff were friendly and very helpful.
Overall a nice base and we would return but a few small disappointments.

Our choral group on tour in the Dolomites stayed at Hotel Tressane April 12-17. We used Fiera di Primiero as our home base for visiting several villages and small towns in the region.

Rooms were spacious and well stocked; beds really comfy. We had a fabulous view of the snow-capped mountains. Simply stunning scenery!

We took meals in the Tressane's dining room -- breakfast, dinner and a lengthy 'snack' time in the afternoon -- delicious, great variety and wonderful. The owners and staff made an outstanding effort for us, and we cannot thank them enough. We would go back there in a heartbeat!

The hotel offers a spa/wellness program as well, but we did not take advantage of it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the parking area; the view of the mountains is not to be missed!

We just left this wonderful place. It's located in a valley surrounded by the majestic Italian Alps.
The location is just fantastic. From our rooms we could lay in bed and see the snow covered mountains.

The hotel and local village were loaded with Bavarian Charm. We thought we were in a living post card!
The meals were all included (Breakfast, lunch and dinner). This was unlike the typical US hotel offering inclusive meals. Dinner was a true north Italian cuisine experience and offered choices for entrées as well as sides.

Breakfast was an upscale choice of nice Italian meats, crepes, sweet breads etc. They were fresh and wonderful. There were also cereals. I'm not sure whether there were hot foods. My husband said they would cook eggs to preference but I did not see any of that (though because of our schedule I spent little time at breakfast)

This hotel is owned and run by an Italian family who have a long heritage in the hotel service business. The owners were professional in every way and aimed to please. The quality of the hotel and the inclusive meals made this hotel was a major value!!

There is hardly any English speaking in the village. It is a true Italian Village. It's where the Italians go for vacation. While there is some nice shopping this area is not geared to the tourists. Here you can get immersed in the culture and enjoy the absolutely majestic surroundings.

We wish two things: 1. that we can come again and spend more time and 2. That everyone could experience this at least once!
