What a fantastic place to stay. We arrived in late afternoon and really enjoyed the cuppa which our hosts had ready for us. The cottage is really ideal in that every little detail has been thought about and the accommodation is spotless and fresh and comfy. There's lots of space for the guests which means that you don't feel too much like intruders in the owner's own quarters. To have not only a bedroom but also our own private sittingroom with television books etc is just luxury.

Lovely breakfast too. A really phenominal find and somewhere that we can not recommend too highly. The owners deserve all the praise and awards they receive for they so obviously work very hard to make everyone's stay a good one.

Needed a night's break, didn't want to venture too far from home, found Primrose and read the reviews. Everything everyone says is true, an excellent 'home' superb house, brilliant breakfast and great, great hosts. Ticked every box and then some that aren't even on the list. Take a bow Irene and Bob you deserve it. It was more like visiting friends than handing over money to a business establishment. Wonderful place, lovely quiet village and perfect for peace. Hopefully we'll be back and for longer. Thank you Primrose, Irene and Bob, truly inspiring.

I chose to stay here because of previous reviews and I was not let down. Irene and Bob were great hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they have it spot on! the house is beautiful and scrupulously clean. I just wish Irene would visit me and bring my house up to that standard :-)

Unfortunately we only stayed one night at Primrose Cottage- we would have been happy to stay much longer! We were welcomed with homemade scones and tea, and shown to our lovely, comfortable room. We honestly couldn't want for anything. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice of cereals, fruit etc., and the cooked breakfast was delicious. This cottage is extremely clean and comfortable, and in a great location. What makes it extra special are the hosts, who are so welcoming and friendly. I'd love to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

We spent three nights at Primrose Cottage and didn't want to come home . Irene was very welcoming on our arrival and tea was fabulous but saved our scones till the following day . Bob even rang the host at the Black Bull to secure us a table for our evening meal . We were shown to a beautiful room which Irene called the suite it was a beautiful room with real wow factor and so homely . Dressing gowns , towels , tea , coffee , herbal teas and hot chocolate even complementary chocolate all such special extras provided and nothing was any trouble , such a lovely couple . They provided a good few places of interest to visit and we only managed three off a vast list so we will definitely return . I'm still laughing about some of Irene's tales of Fireman Bob ! And not to be out done Bob has a few funnies about lovely Irene ......"London underground" you have to ask Bob . I can't not mention Geoff from the Black Bull pub another real character and the food is fabulous and you wobble back if you've had one wine too many . Enjoy x and Irene and Bob thank you for making our anniversary weekend so special xx

We stayed for four nights in Primrose Cottage. Irene and Bob are perfect hosts. We were met with tea and scones, which was delicious and very welcome after our journey. The breakfast is faultless, I can recommend the scrambled eggs and salmon ! Our room ( more like a suite ) was lovely, tastefully decorated throughout in blue and white, with it's own lounge. CD and DVD players provided, games such as scrabble were also provided. We did not want to leave and cannot wait to stay again !

Just got back from a 5 night stay at Primrose Cottage - what a fantastic place to stay! From arriving to leaving we were treated as friends by Irene and Bob who were perfect hosts. Our room was excellent; very comfortable and all the little touches such as a vast array or toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and dressing gowns provided. We were greeted with tea and home made scones; alongside a friendly chat. Irene and Bob were very helpful in recommending places to visit and eat during our stay as well as having lots of information about the local area. The breakfasts are fab - nothing is too much trouble and the choices are endless. We had a great time and were sorry to leave. I would highly recommend this lovely B and b to everyone and will definitely return to this gem in Northumberland. Thankyou Irene and Bob.
