Grasslands resort is one of few standard resorts in kaziranga. Many consider it an odd mixture of good facilities , friendly staff layout and patchy service.
i found the staff pleasant and friendly everytime i visited the place
Rooms and fittings are pleasant and clean with comfortable beds, however the resort is bit overpriced compared to similar properties around.
Food is of course excellent , not overpriced though the service can improve

Grasslands is an odd mixture of good facilities and friendly staff and inconvenient layout and patchy service.
The staff are pleasant and friendly however they seem to lack experience meeting the needs of western tourists.
Rooms and fittings are pleasant and clean with comfortable beds, however the resort is plagued with the common Indian failing of regular blackouts.
Food is mediocre and service can be very slow, even when there is a known travel departure deadline.

Grassland definitely scores the highest when it comes to resorts around Kaziranga National Park, with it's great location(just next to the highway), making it very easily accessible, excellent service (the staff are always on their feet & ready to help), well manicured gardens, a great place to spend time with family & friends; The rooms are very spacious & neat, with spacious bathrooms; Tariff starts at around 3.5K upto around 12K for luxury cottages, each cottage having a different interior; The restaurant has a good variety of food to offer; complimentary breakfast is quite ok; the lounge & the bar offers very good ambience; a nice swimming pool with good privacy, gym, spa are other things on offer; there is also a children's play area & a small lake with boating facility; they also arrange trekking & safaris; We had taken our own car, but I heard that they have airport pick & drop facility too; All in all, it's been a very good experience... Next time we're there, will try Iora resort (nearby), which I felt was also very good...

We were travelling in december last week and I was told only higher category rooms were available and then told they could accomodate us in the deluxe rooms for 3.8k a night inclusive of taxes and breakfast, provided we transferred the money online, immediately. Not wanting to be stranded out there we did the same. The rooms were clean and the facilies were good. But the surprises came the next day morning. We were told that someone will come to our cottage and take us to the elephant safari at 5 am, no one turned up! We waited and then walked by to the reception area there was a guy waiting seemingly upset that we were late! Then we were told that we needed to take our own vehicle when it was clearly told to us that they will arrange for the transport! Our driver was still asleep with his phone off, we had to request some other driver to drop us and he charged Rs200 for a 1 km drive.

Then came the Jeep safari, we were told 1.6K for a jeep all inclusive, then discovered that we had to pay Rs.400 per head more in addition to this. The jeep safari was a waste as we could hardly see anything.

At the time of checkout we were billed some 4.7k for the room instead of 3.8k! Then they stated they had some taxes etc. The staff even lied and denied having confirmed an all inclusive room at the time of booking and the email confirmation did not contain the tariff, we could not even argue. We were then charged for the driver's dorm that we were told was free... so everything costed us like some 10k for 24 hours and we stayed there just for about 15 hours! We could have easily saved 40% of this amount by staying at some place at Kohora.

We felt sore and cheated and left the place feeling looted.

Room Tip: Nardus rooms are private and away from the other cottages, you can see a nice sunset from there.

Hi Earthchild,

Firstly we apologize for the inconveniences caused to you. We think the issue came up because of miscommunication from both ends. We would be more careful in future.

went to kaziranga with three friends of mine... couldnt find booking in Iora , hence tried this .. turned out to be a wonderful experience.. the open space here is much more than Iora resort.. the service here is professional , yet homely..as in when we asked for arrangement of bonfire, they did so without any hesitation.. accordingly arrangement for outdoor dinner was made ... hotel arranges elephant safaria nd jeep safari on payment.. however i would advise them to pick up hotel inmates to the given point via some cab to the elephant safari point.. we had our own vehicle, so it was not an issue.. all facilities were well maintained.. as in sports.. cricket and volleyball was not available though mentioned in the list of entertainment.. hiowever, doesnt matter, ryt? swimming pool upto mark. food - both indian and continental items are good. one or two dishes were too spicy or not as per their description on menu..but again thats personal choice.. overall if you coming with family, and can afford 4k per night, this would be the ultimate stop for u.

Room Tip: for people with budget travel , you can try executive rooms with an extra bed.. cottages have a charm in themselves but cottages in this resort have a low value for price paid.. they are located at the same place.. so not much of a difference in the experience.
