During 2008 I wrote the first TripAdvisor review of Cerro Lodge. I was impressed with Federico Ferraro's accomplishment then, and yet when we visited again in February 2012 I was struck by just how much more he had done while still retaining the essential qualities that make Cerro Lodge such an enjoyable destination. In 2008 he had four bungalows; today he has seven, and he now has four "standard rooms" (four more are being built). A restaurant-reception area has been added, along with a small swimming pool. Paved sidewalks now connect the bungalows and rooms to the restaurant.
A short but enjoyable nature trail is especially interesting to birders, for whom Cerro Lodge is becoming the best lodging option when visiting nearby Carara National Park.
The included breakfast is ample and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cerro Lodge was great in 2008, and it's even better now!More
