“Tranquility”
Reviewed 13 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The stone floors (pack some slippers), wood burner and Rayburn made for a cosy and rustic vibe. We particulalry liked not having any internet access and waking to the choral sounds of birds. Our hectic schedule meant we did not go on any of the walks but we did drive through the ford - a 3-minute walk from the cottage. The back garden is a sun trap and a sanctuary for quite a few wildlife. The children stroked ponies in the nearby fields and would have benefited from spending more time there. Chris, the owner, was great at responding to queries. I would however, say that it might be a good idea to stock up on household essentials like washing up liquid and loo roll or check with the owner before arriving. All in all, a lovely place to stay.

“Cosy cottage, lovely countryside”

A great cottage for a few days away from it all. It was much bigger than we expected and we particularly liked the wood burner and aga - both used for the sometimes chilly nights. The slate/ stone floors and wooden panelling and cupboards gave the cottage a really authentic feel. Good shower ( though difficult to get anything but very hot water) and lots of books and games available, including for children. Walking in the countryside a around the cottage was superb and the small Coop just a few steps away was handy.
