I stayed here for the past two weeks and really felt at home. Jan and andrew do a superb job and really made me feel welcome.
The place is always spotlessly clean and they do a great job maintaining the beautiful gardens.
I will miss my cooked breakfast each morning from jan which was delicious every time and id imagine you would struggle to get anybetter in town!!
I will deffinatly recommend rothburys to anyone.

keep up the good work!!!

It was absolutely a fabulous experience for us. My gf likes attic rooms, so we stayed in the red room. Though the room is located in the attic, it is not small at all. In fact we had a big separate bathroom just next to the bedroom, also the lounge area with tv, bookshelf and sofa were belonged to us. Since it's the top floor, nobody else would access to it. We could enjoy the Cusop Hill view from the bathroom and the lounge, and it was just breath taken in the rain.

Jan and Andrew are both very nice and friendly person, cheerful and very easy to chat to, they also provided us lots of help and town information during our stay. The breakfast is great as well. The house is always tidy and beautiful, my gf loves the watercolor paintings they collected, and I like all the detailed things they use to decorate the house.

Hay is a beautiful town, and Rothbury made our stay even better. I really suggest this place, and u won't regret it.

Another visit to Wales with work. We changed B&B due to changes in routes across the Black Mountains. We found this on line prior to leaving... What a delightdul find.

I have astayed in many places, many of which have been nice but this has to be the best place yet... I haven't even left and i want to write a review!

I am staying in th Pink room which is beautiful with a stunning view from the window particularly in the morning.

The attention to detail is better than a good hotel. Shower and bed are fantastic as well as the breakfast.

Jan and Andrew are a pleasure to meet. Exceptionally friendly and nice to chat to. A really easy energy to stay within which can be the biggest issue with a B&B.

I would without doubt recommend this place but strongly suggest booking well in advance as it will be booked up particularly during the festival season... You may have to consider a year in advance for booking durinf this period.

Any issues with this place??

Honestly.... No!

I just love it here... I'd move in if i could!!

Great value for money and a delight to stay here. A real family feel with 5 star quality!

We couldn't have asked for a nicer review! We really enjoy what we do and the best part is meeting people from all over the world. This guest and her colleague were just so nice ,we felt at home with them straight away! They were a pleasure to look after and can come back any time! Thank you so much for the review. We had a really relaxing stay in the annexe at Rothbury last year and it was the first place we thougtht about when planning a short break this year. This time we stayed in the house, but still had plenty of room to ourselves in the red "suite". Jan and Andrew are discreet yet attentive hosts and make you feel at home immediately. The house is delightful and retains a period feel, yet has all the comforts of modern living. Breakfasts are fresh, tasty and as copious as you could wish for which gives you an excellent basis for either exploring the many nearby walks or the bookshops. Hay is a short and pleasant walk away, so you can leave the car behind.
The location is peaceful, but by no means isolated and the views from the house are lovely. A real home from home for us and we look forward to being able to come back again. Thank you Jan and Andrew for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.

We stayed in September, two couples on a weekend bookshopping and walking and Rothbury was ideal. Andrew and Jan were very welcoming and have a lovely house. A good breakfast set us up perfectly for a day in the mountains and I would recomend this place to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay within easy reach of the town.

Room Tip: Attic room is really a suite - two of us were able to watch TV leaving the early sleeper undisturbed!
