Mystic River is phenomenal-- if you're traveling with a nice budget do yourself a favor and stay there. Beautiful grounds, amazing people, relaxing environment.
Couple of notes worth mentioning:
-Ben was a phenomenal tour guide-- if you have an adventurous side definitely do the ATM tour.
-The food and drinks at the resort were excellent--and they use lots of ingredients that they grow on property.
-The tours are expensive. I visited Cahal Pech one day for a few hours (it's in San Ignacio) and the price was 90.00 USD per person. The entrance fee to Cahal Pech is $5USD--- so I paid $85.00 for a 15 minute car ride and a guide-- which would have been OK if I was by myself but there were 3 of us paying the same amount--- quite nice margins in there if you do the math.
-They do a phenomenal job with keeping bugs off the property-- but you're in the jungle-- bring some OFF.
-The staff is nothing short of amazing-- Karen, Leo, George, Steve, Lloyd, Arne, etc.
-The yoga deck is one of the most relaxing places I've ever been---I napped and read, and read and napped.
-You will NOT get cell phone service there even if you have an international plan. Repeat: You are in the jungle.More
