Based at the wild place at Cribbs Causeway. You go to the Wild Place for the day as a normal visitor and then when every one else goes home you stay there over night in one of their 10 pod's. But it's much more than that, you have 2 hosts that take you to the woods and do bush craft activities (very bear grills), then you have dinner which was lovely and plentiful. After dinner you have a nighttime tour of the animals (torches in hand), you see the animals that are active at night from a very different perspective. Following that it's back to the pods for hot chocolate and melting marshmallows on the camp fire. The next morning it's an early start on a tour of the rest of the animals, you even get to feed some of them. Following the tour you head in to the giraffe house and conference room which I have to say is really quite special. Here you have a great breakfast (whilst the giraffes are having their breakfast) with more food than you can eat and coffee on tap. The hosts are amazing, great fun, very informative and are so passionate about conversvation and making sure you have an amazing stay. But it doesn't finish there. At 10.30am you check out of your pod's and have the option to stay on site the rest of the day or head off to Bristol Zoo for the day (entry complimentary). It's a really sociable stay with a packed itinary, nothing was too much trouble and there was no scrimping when it came to making sure we had every thing we needed and more. A big thumbs up and well done to Wild Place. A truly unique stay x
Also massive thank you to Sophie and Matt who are amazing hosts. Good luck in your studies and fulfiling your ambitions.

Room Tip: Children under 5 might find this very tiring and over whelming. I would say children of the age 5 to 12 would be most suited.

Hi just to say on the 14th October we stayed the night at camp baboon in Bristol it was a birthday surprise for my wife and what a great treat it turned out to be we checked in and shown to our pod it was very very nice clean nice shower nice double bed nice area to chill and a nice outside area to seat and relax we had to game wardens who were very clued up on the animals and the bush craft ,we we’re taught how to make a fire useing flint stone and a few other tricks and even made a stick for toasting marshmallows on the open fire before bed and in the morning we saw all the animals and even had a nice breakfast with the giraffes and you get a free day out at Bristol zoo, you can also just go for the day at wild place but it’s well worth staying the night at camp baboon if you want to treat someone to a special day/night then you cannot beat this it may sound expensive but what you get for your money we thought it was well priced

What a fantastic time from start to finish . Sophie and Rebecca were super hosts , knowledgeable and sociable with all of the guests. The cabins were great, really cosy, and clean and perfect for spending the night in. We all slept like babies and were not woken up by the Geladas !
i would totally recommend this experience to anyone.

On arrival you are directed to Camp Baboon which is about 10 minutes walk through the park from the entrance of the Camp where you are met by your host. Our host was Grace who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the animals.

We were shown our pod for the night which was very clean and cosy. There is no hanging space for a change of clothes but there is room to store toiletries. The shower was hot with lots of water, kettle for tea making and very comfortable beds with good quality bedding. If it is a bit cold there are even heaters.

After settling in and meeting the other guests it was time for the Bushcraft activities which were very well led. We were shown several ways of making fire and had a go ourselves. We then made spears from the trees for our marshmallows later in the evening. This was very cleverly done as everyone from the youngest about 3 to the eldest adult felt included in the experience.

We then all headed off to dinner which was a delicious bbq and salad followed by profitterol es and plenty for seconds if wanted. The food was good quality and both hosts stayed chatting to the guests and answer questions. I cannot begin to describe how interesting and knowledgeable they were.

We then all headed off for the tour of the animals and got to see some of the more timid animals and wolves in the dark. This was a very unique experience.

The evening was pleasantly finished off with toasting marshmallows outside the pods on the spears we made earlier round the fire pit. This was very enjoyable and sociable. If you have younger children and they are tired you could put them to bed and sit outside as the fire pit is in the centre of the pods. Most of our group Sat outside until about 11.30 as it was so relaxing.

The next day is an early start with a tour of the animals starting at 7.30 and we even got to feed a few. The tour is finished with a continental breakfast overlooking the giraffe enclosure .

We then checked out and headed home but you also get free tickets to visit Bristol Zoo if you have time.
