Great Place For An Old English Stay

Review of Old Church Farm
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Oct 2018
Great place to stay and the host Chris really friendly. Lovely rooms all ensuite with great views. This hotel also has great facilities for conferences, close to the M5/M4 and easy access to Bristol City Centre. Meals freshly prepaired as ordered. Golf Courses near by if you are a golfer or wish to arrange a corporate golf day.
Recommend a stay.

My company recently held an informal business meeting here and 4 of us stayed overnight after an excellent dinner.
This is a place of great charm and elegance combined with really top flight business meeting facilities, close to the M4 yet completely in the country. The accommodation is of a very high standard, it is family run with all the personal attention and service one would expect of a 5 star hotel. For a small business event this is the best venue I have found. I am now scouring our work diary for a good reason to use it again!

With a comfy and sizeable bed in a room that was beautiful (but not pretentiously so!) alongside delicious fresh food, much of it organic and growing in the impressive vegetable garden on site, Old Church Farm was a spot of paradise for me amidst my travels around the South West. Would strongly recommend.

We only wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful old house. The interiors, gardens, and old church with ancient yew tree were all wonderful. Christopher was the perfect host - helpful and welcoming but never imposing.

Room tip: We were in the largest room and it was exceptionally large

Stayed for 1 night but wished to be able to stay longer.
Excellent decoration for this luxury country house with a global good ambience where we can easily spend time in and outside around the gardens.
The owners are helpful and very kind and they have succeeded in maintaining the traditional ambience with actual modern services.
Not forgetting to mention the excellent breakfast with local ingredients.
Unfortunately we were not able to have dinner but seeing how the table was dressed, I think we missed something.

The rooms were well furnished as befits an old manor house, and the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful, even clearing the snow from driveway and car. The dinner was delicious, the wine list short but excellently chosen. And the delicious breakfast set us up for our long trip home through the Beast from the East part 2.

Dear Christopher,
I am glad to hear that you made it home safely. If you can make it over here again in the summer the garden is giving us some exceptional produce. Lovely to meet you both. Best wishes, Christopher
