Beautiful place and nature reserve, always a pleasure to bring our dog here and enjoy the wildlife. You can walk for hours at this place

Lovely area spoilt by the attraction of all dog owners! Those of you who do not like dogs then stay clear. Owners can't be asked to control their dogs, regardless of the signs say Keep On Lead! Get in your way, under your feet. So, if you have a dog, join the other hundreds there. If you don't have a dog, mind the poop. If you dislike dogs, STAY AWAY!

Followed two of the trail paths, lovely walks with lots of nature, birds, trees. Followed by a lovely cup of tea in the visitors centre.

There are so many walks around the pits that you could never be board. We always love seeing the highland cows :) Can guarantee that the dog is worn out after a walk round the pits. It also links to the Ouse Valley Way which offers even more walking options.
