Better than anticipated. Resorts level of customer service very good! Our sunrise experiences were beautiful and the sunsets even better. Resort was not crowded during our stay which was wonderful. Awesome stay! Have already recommended to friends that may visit Jamaica in the future.

First day back in the UK today after our trip to Melia
We had a wonderful time at Melia. After reading many reviews i ws nervous before going to Melia and based on this i vowed to write a truthful and accurate review.

First of all the shout outs to the people whom made our holiday

Nereen at golden sands. A funny, helpful, incrediable lady whom always took the time to talk to us and make us feel very welcome. She makes the best cocktails according to my husband. Make sure you ask for a long Island iced tea extra hot and extra long. she will laugh. what a legend. She noticed also that i arrived with a cough and she took it upon herself each day to make me a Jamaican remedy. Honey and lime juice. It helped me lots. thank you Nereen. you are truely a remarkable women and definately an asset to Melia

Cool Josh. Such a gentleman. Funny and helpful. Always stopped whenever he saw us to make sure we were ok and took time to learn things about us and England. Again , another asset to the Melia team and we will miss him

Shauna @ the level lounge. A warm and helpful lady and could not do enough for us. Lovely

Shirley (although think her actual name is Sheanete?) fab lady. war, helpful and always had a smile on her face. made a massive effot to run out and see us when she spotted us.

Annette the house keeper. lovely lady also. our room was wonderful everytime we came back. she took time to talk to me when we bumped into each other.

There are so many more staff i really should mention but i cannot remember all of their names. Caron, kemar, michael spring to mind. great lovely guys also

So to my review. I will be truthful and honest as feel that this is th only way to be

Our room

Block 14, second floor level side ocean view. And what a view indeed. amazing!

Our room was big spacious and airy. Bed was comfortable as well as the linens and pillows. we did experiance some of the lights not working but as there is so many in the room it was not an issue at all. The balcont is great. plenty of room and good furniture. Only thing to mention here is that the rack where you can hang wet clothes to dry was rusty and has left rust marks are many of our ligh coloured clothing. These need to be fixed or replaced so that this doesnt happen further. I am washing our light clothes today so hope that the rust marks come out.

The bathroom was big and spacious. had everything you need. Our first week our shower was cold.we were expecting this after reading many trip advisors reviews. After a week we realised why. Instead of turning the shower handle in the shower towards you, turn it away from you towards the wall and bingo.. hot water. Great.

We also had ants in our bathroom. Not many and didnt cause us an issue but may to others. i believe this is because he bathroom window is a wooden shutter and has holes in. Maybe a good thing to either block the window up or replace with glass to stop this.

The grounds. everywhere was always very clean and very well kept. The level beach again clean and well kept. We did go over to the otherside where the beach and walk ways were not so tidy. More attention needs to be done here to bring the grounds etc up to the same standard as the level side.

Food. This is where we were dissapointed. One of the reasons we booked Melia is because there were many restuarants available. Whilst I appreciate that the resort was quiet the 2 weeks we were there, the restuarants were not open enough leaving the choices of where to eat extremely limited. If i am truthful, if we would have known that they would have been closed so much we probably would not have booked Melia as me and my husband are not fans of Buffet style food all of the time

Breakfast - As a level guest we culd eat breakfast either at golden sands or the maket place (or rasta pasta alot of mornings)

Golden sands - most days there were items unavailable from the menu. food ordered was ok but nothing special. Needs to have an area where you can go and pick pastries, fruit etc etc

Rasta pasta - again, items not available from the menu. Freiendly staff and we liked that they had fruit and pastries we could have

the market place - lots more to choose from. Food were ok but dry. Need to offer something with a sauce like baked beans or plum tomotoes to go with the hot food.

Lunch

Golden sands - food was ok. Limited menu which when you stay for 2 weeks becomes very repeatative. Think there needs to be 2 menus which change each week to avoid this.

Market place. Alot to choose from but alot of the food is bland. More care needs to be taken with the food. lots more salt and pepper. Chefs should taste the food they are making. it could be be so much better. Staff all friendly

Evening dinners.

First week only market place was open. The evening food is much nicer than breakfast and lunch. Staff again very friendly and attentive. Mention to Leroy here. lovely guy.

Nikkei - we are here once the second week. food was nice. Need more than entree's though. 3 really is not enough to choose from.

Rasta Pasta - this was my favourite. plenty to choose from and very tasty food indeed

876 Prime. Nice attmosphere and nice decor. Food was good. Sadly some of the things on my plate were cold. I did still eat it though. The prices for the steaks were very high. If our Ribeye was not included on the level side i would not have paid $42 and would have had the sirloin which was included

Beach party. Needs more meat options. it is a Barbeque after all. The food we did have was cold. The little burners under the containers the food were in really are not good enough. Food needs to be hot.

Jamaica night - this was amazing and the best food over everything. Great attmosphire and amazing authentic Jamaican foods. cannot say anthing bad at all abut Jamaica night.

Level lounge. wonderful place to go to relax when its hot out. All the level staff are helpful and friendly and always wanting to go the extra mile to help. The drinks are good. Snacks are ok but think signs need to be provided advising what the snacks were as they are the usual kind of snacks you would expect. I think little sandwiches and maybe chips (uk crisps) need to be done here also as some of the snacks out were a little odd.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Melia. I think if the above address are improved melia will be a hidden treasure of Jamaica.

At the moment the food does let it down. for a 5 star it should be amazing and the resturants need to be open alot more. This would then make it a true 5 star resort. Your Jamacian offerings are super tasty, the rest of the food needs to be too.

We didnt visit the spa as found the prices to be very exspensive. As the spa staff were out everyday trying to get people to use the spa, this would suggest other people felt the same.

That being said, i would happily go back to Melia and stay. The weather and the fabulous staff made our holiday a fantastic one. (shout to Tyrone in the security team. lovely man)

You must visit!

Thanks for a memorable holiday.

see you soon

My girlfriend and I were staying in room 1505 at the Level and we had a great time. The staff members were always pleasant, eager to help and welcoming, shout-out to Judah and Marlon (can’t remember all the names). The facilities were also on point and we’d definitely recommend the Melia Braco Level as an awesome vacation destination. Thanks for accommodating us and we hope to see you again soon

I stayed at MeliaBraco in Trelawney Jamaica the staff was great w the exception the (GM) General Manager. I was talking to a staff member he walked up interrupted our conversation without an excuse me. 2 days later I saw him and as everyone there always says hello or Good morning depending on the time of day again as I approached him to say good day he turned his head and quickly walked away.
Thank God hes not a reflection of that hotel. The staff should be commended daily for all their efforts despite their GM.

Dear secureaproperty,

Thank you for your frank review.

Please accept our sincerest apology on behalf of the Head of our Team. The experience you have described of our General Manager(GM) does not speak to the person he truly is, and we again regret that his naturally warm, friendly and caring persona was not felt.

As a team, we care deeply about your experience and we are happy you had a wonderful time overall.

We do hope you will consider us the next time you plan your vacation.
