I picked this hotel at random as it conveniently located on our travelling path... It just happened also to be my 50th birthday and also our second wedding anniversary on the same day (April 2012).
I can honestly say that first impressions of the place were superb, the welcome we received was second to none and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Having ensured we were settled though, we were then to our own devices to explore the area, to sit in the superb bars and lounges, both with roaring log fires, and plenty of ambience.

Our room was very comfortable and at our special dinner it was clear the staff had gone out of their way to welcome us, arguing amongst themselves as to which was the best and most romantic table in the restaurant! The food was the best we have experienced in a very long time, as was the breakfast the following morning.

All in all we could not fault the Rowan Tree or its patrons, Steve and Monique. We definitely intend to return - it would be fantastic to stay for a week just in order to sample some more of the superb menu!

Thank you!! X

Spent two nights here in May 2012 and loved it. Lovely rooms, very spacious. We had a great view out on the loch and hills. Excellent breakfast of a very high quality. Also enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant which I would definitely recommend. I hope to return here sometime! Point off for the shower in the room which had barely any power at all.

We have been making annual visits to Aviemore for over 20 years and this was our first meal at the Rownan Tree; it won't be our last! The menu is extensive and varied. The quality and presentation excellent as was the value for money. Three courses and two 250 mil glasses of wine for less than £80 including tip. We have paid substantially more at other "local" restaurants.

We recently travelled back to Speyside from a tour of Scotland, just to eat at this wonderful hotel. We were not disaponted and savoured every mouthful. Treat yourself and book a table. The hotel staff are lovely and the owners are incredibly helpful. We look forward to visiting agian in 2013.
