“Very Good quality and value”

This was a last minute booking. On arrival greeted by very friendly local receptionist and got an excellent room for a very good rate. The room was very well furnished and warm. Excellent bathroom with bath and shower. I paid a visit to the pool- again very good , clean and of a very reasonable size. Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all vey good.

The room had wireless broadband and it was free and fast so full marks. There was a dance that night...Monday... bit of ballroom of romance. Nice to see it. I had the window open there was a bit of chatter outside at about 1am, as the dance ended but not what I would all noise.

The staff were all very friendly, the bar prices were ok 4.50 for a Guinness.

The breakfast was top class, menu was available and breakfast was cooked to order. Great selection of brown bread etc. many Irish off the beaten track hotels could learn a lesson from this place. Maybe a place in Waterford should take a night off to see how its done at one third of the price. Good show McWilliam Park. I will return.

Room Tip: Perhaps on a dance night ask forroomat back of corridor ... Even numbers rooms.

Thankfully I don't think I will be going back to this hotel again. It's not that there's much wrong its just that it lacks character and personality. The bar has the atmosphere of a large barn. The seats in tbe lounge between the reception and the bar were not very clean. Despite the waiter clearly noting I have an allergy to eggs the kitchen still managed to serve a sandwich accompanied by enough egg content to kill me. The heating was up to max in all tbe rooms (well I can confirm at least 5). The food served for dinner was adequate but lacked balance, mine had too much rice for the quantity of sauce and too much veg in relation to the prawns. All these things could easily be remedied but unfortunately each added up to an under whelming experience. Sadly I won't be back.

Stayed here with a group for 3 nights. The hotel has a nice pool etc. Rooms were very nice and the food was very good. The only thing was that I was on the front of the hotel just to the side of the entrance, and the so called double glazing did not keep any noise out at all ? They had a show at the hotel one evening and you could hear the guests shouting and laughing until 5.15 am when the last of them left mmmm? So not a good nights sleep if your on the front of the hotel!

I was invited twice in one week, to the McWilliam Park Hotel, for lunch, by different friends living in the Claremorris area, The hotel is easily accessible from the N17, with plenty of parking. On both occasions, every table was filled with diners of all ages. On my first visit that week day, I opted for a cooked vegetable plate, unfortunately, the veggies were a bit overcooked. On my second visit, I joined another friend for a tea/coffee break, I had tea & a scone, which was fine. As busy as it was, the staff were friendly & attentive.

Stayed for two nights over easter with my family and friends. Had a lovely time , kids loved the pool. Food very good and staff very helpful. Good place to explore the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend Mc William. That was our third visit and probably not our last.

I stayed there on the Sunday night of Easter weekend. I was in town for a relatives wedding and most of my immediate family was also staying there (9 adults and 8 children). Check in was quick and friendly. There was ample parking in the handicapped area which suited one member of the party. The revolving door on the main entrance is not handicapped or elderly friendly and there were no obvious signs to direct the handicapped person to the side entry door. Rooms were pleasant, warm and reasonably modern. On arrival we ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was pleasant, with no wait for a table. Our server Louise was friendly and professional. Later we has some drinks in the bar and again the bar service was prompt and professional. The band in the bar was way too loud and not very good but we did manage to find a table at the other end where conversation was possible.
When we decided to go to bed we quickly realized that sleep was going to be impossible as the hotel has a nightclub or concert venue attached and you could hear the music and drumming until 2am in the morning. We would have been ok with that if that had been the end of the noise. However our room was at the front of the hotel directly above the area where the concert goers were exiting so in reality the noise got worse. Dozens of people standing outside, obviously very drunk, yelling and screaming in colorful language. This went on until 4.30 am in the morning. Needless to say we got zero sleep which was tough since we had a long drive the previous day to get to the location. Almost all of our party had the same complaint even though they were at different locations in the hotel
Breakfast the following day was reasonably good. Again the staff was very friendly and doing a good job with a large no. of customers. The buffet style portion of the breakfast left a bit to be desired in terms of how it was laid out in the open with no covers over any of the food. A little better layout would be better, preferably with higher tables to keep children from touching the food unnecessarily.
In summary, good location, nice staff, nice pool area, but don't go on a weekend if you want to get some sleep.

Room Tip: Get the room furthest away from the nightclub and front entrance if that is possible!
