We recently visited Ireland for my Granddaughters First Holy Communion and stayed at the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris, Co Mayo Ireland. Our room was an upgraded suite (which we had to pay 20 Euros a day) in a great hotel. The people were very friendly and warm. Their restaurant was very nice but surprised breakfast was 80 Euros a day. There were lots of activities every evening for the locals and guests in the hotel, nice pool and okay bar. When I go back to Ireland to visit with my Granddaughter, I'll stay here again probably because I would assume it's my best option around Claremorris. I also might consider one of the 5 Star Castles to stay in as well.. In any event everything is fairly pricy.

Room Tip: I would request a suite at the end of the hallways further away from the lobby and on the second lev...

Stayed here for one night to celebrate wedding anniversary. On check in was given a room upgrade and a lovely bottle of wine and basket of fruit. Rooms are quiet large and very clean.Had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant . Only a short walk into to Claremorris town.

This was a last minute booking. On arrival greeted by very friendly local receptionist and got an excellent room for a very good rate. The room was very well furnished and warm. Excellent bathroom with bath and shower. I paid a visit to the pool- again very good , clean and of a very reasonable size. Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all vey good.

The room had wireless broadband and it was free and fast so full marks. There was a dance that night...Monday... bit of ballroom of romance. Nice to see it. I had the window open there was a bit of chatter outside at about 1am, as the dance ended but not what I would all noise.

The staff were all very friendly, the bar prices were ok 4.50 for a Guinness.

The breakfast was top class, menu was available and breakfast was cooked to order. Great selection of brown bread etc. many Irish off the beaten track hotels could learn a lesson from this place. Maybe a place in Waterford should take a night off to see how its done at one third of the price. Good show McWilliam Park. I will return.

Room Tip: Perhaps on a dance night ask forroomat back of corridor ... Even numbers rooms.

Thankfully I don't think I will be going back to this hotel again. It's not that there's much wrong its just that it lacks character and personality. The bar has the atmosphere of a large barn. The seats in tbe lounge between the reception and the bar were not very clean. Despite the waiter clearly noting I have an allergy to eggs the kitchen still managed to serve a sandwich accompanied by enough egg content to kill me. The heating was up to max in all tbe rooms (well I can confirm at least 5). The food served for dinner was adequate but lacked balance, mine had too much rice for the quantity of sauce and too much veg in relation to the prawns. All these things could easily be remedied but unfortunately each added up to an under whelming experience. Sadly I won't be back.

Stayed here with a group for 3 nights. The hotel has a nice pool etc. Rooms were very nice and the food was very good. The only thing was that I was on the front of the hotel just to the side of the entrance, and the so called double glazing did not keep any noise out at all ? They had a show at the hotel one evening and you could hear the guests shouting and laughing until 5.15 am when the last of them left mmmm? So not a good nights sleep if your on the front of the hotel!

I was invited twice in one week, to the McWilliam Park Hotel, for lunch, by different friends living in the Claremorris area, The hotel is easily accessible from the N17, with plenty of parking. On both occasions, every table was filled with diners of all ages. On my first visit that week day, I opted for a cooked vegetable plate, unfortunately, the veggies were a bit overcooked. On my second visit, I joined another friend for a tea/coffee break, I had tea & a scone, which was fine. As busy as it was, the staff were friendly & attentive.

Stayed for two nights over easter with my family and friends. Had a lovely time , kids loved the pool. Food very good and staff very helpful. Good place to explore the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend Mc William. That was our third visit and probably not our last.
