I went in February to this hotel and it was a very nice stay. And the most important thing! They allow dogs in the bedrooms! The breakfast also was quite complete and the staff very kind.
It is situated near the beach and the city centre.

This is a very nice classic hotel. If you are looking for a fancy modern hotel, perhaps this is not your best choice. Location is excellent. Close to the beach, even when I've been there in a very cold winter. Rooms are comfortable and you can have some suites if you travel with your family so you can get better prices. Service was excellent and it also have a free parking, although you cannot be sure you will find a place because is not too large.

This hotel is clean and satisfactory for a stop over but the food in the restaurant was very poor.
It seems that it is almost impossible to get a meal in this rather upmarket town before 8.30 at night and, after a long day's travelling it seemed easier to eat at the hotel.
The menu del dia was 12.90€ and looked Ok but getting it translated into English was difficult, the waitress only spoke Spanish and you would not expect anything else in Northern Spain.
Two of the Starters which we ordered were replaced by Paella as they had run out! No option given for anything else. Very basic fare for a hotel restaurant but edible.
Main courses all came with chips, no veg and the fish was just a whole fish including the head, cut down the middle and full of lethal looking bones. The chicken breast was passable but more like beach bar food than hotel food.
We were short changed on the wine per person, impossible to rectify without translation.
All in all a very unsatisfactory meal.

Stayed for one week as part of a large party on a Travel Editions holiday. The hotel seemed to be sparsely staffed, though service didn't really suffer. Our bedroom was sufficiently large, the bathroom well appointed and the room quiet despite being ground floor. No room safe, but free access to general lock-up facility. We never saw the bar open at all, but the large restaurant was well managed and offered a basic 3 course + wine menu for less than 13 Euros - not for gourmets but good value. Difficult to see any private parking - we had a coach for daily outings.

Room Tip: Lower floors are no handicap.

We were there as a group for one night on June while a trip to the north of Spain. The hotel is located near the marvelous seashore so you can enjoy the spectacular sunset there. The reception floor was nicely decorated. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable but everything was minimal. In the bathroom there was no soap and there was no place to hang towels. There was only one blanket for two persons. There were no tea/coffee accessories in the room. The dining room was fine and inviting and the food was varied and tasty. If you search for an hotel only to sleep and eat basic food – it's fit you, and the perfect place compensates you.

Room Tip: If you want tea/coffee in the room - you must bring it by yourself.

We stayed here on a recent tour with relatives to the Basque country (two couples). The rooms were adequate and very clean but the bathroom, we stayed in, was not up to modern day standards - free soap and shampoo does not make up for a bath and shower which lacks modern day conveniences expected by mature tourists. Whilst the double glazed windows were great the walls and ceiling lacked any decent sound proofing. If you are a light sleeper be aware that you may pass the night to a chorus of chatting and snoring coming at you from around your room, a bit like surround sound. I can only think that an end room at the top of the hotel may be your best best or ask for a room where the adjoining rooms are empty.

The reception/ground floor of the hotel was nicely decorated and the day reception staff and dining room staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. It is almost impossible to get a drink after dinner as the bar was closed and the night reception man was not keen to provide us with two beers. This was a pity as the area is very suitable for a quiet!! drink.

If you like nice food I suggest you skip the menus in the restaurant "St Barbara". They are cheap and nasty and of course, very cheap.

Parking was not a problem around the hotel and the area is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Skip the dining room try the "Beach Cafeteria" for breakfast, great coffee, croissants and...

A 36 hour outing to explore a bit beyond San Sebastian with an overnight. High Season at end of July and a Sunday so massive traffic. Parking issues until a large parking area discovered. Then very tricky to negotiate solar powered computer driven meter in Basque language.....great beach...fascinating town....hotel comfortable and friendly....restaurant offered a Sunday dinner of 3 courses and bottle of red wine for E12.90....great value....parking is limited at hotel so street parking required and between 15 June and 15 September the tricky meters.... try to avoid first floor room at front as if hot and without air conditioning there will be noise from traffic and potential late street revellers.....
