such a homey place! the hotel is just a three-house complex, the houses were renovated to be guest houses recently, but originally built in the 18th century. its absolutely impressive how the owners managed to keep the feeling and atmosphere of old village houses with those thick stone-built walls, lots of wooden details and fabric decoration.
the bathroom and the kitchen however were absolutely modern, very well equipped and sized.
you can spend the whole week in the village, doing nothing but relaxing, reading, walking, feeling like having been transferred to an absolutely different world of serenity and peace, away from your everyday duties and worries.
Words can not express how nice this place is. It is actually made of three seperate spacious houses that share a common courtyard but also have seperate terraces. Have been there each summer since 2008 and will gladly go back any time.
Keep in mind though that this is not a hotel. The owners are more than helpful and accomodating but what you're actually renting is an appartment with its own kitchen and full amenities. So don't expect things like room service or a reception. So if you're accustomed to services like these, look for something else. Know though that you'll be missing out big time!
Capetan Matapas is THE excellent for a relaxing vacation.
