We have just returned from a lovely week in Kefalos with our son and his partner. The Kamari Bay is a basic Greek hotel, spotlessly clean and ideally situated in Kefalos. Breakfast is simple, either bread rolls or toast with jam and tea or coffee. The owner John and his nephew Tony are lovely with typical greek hospitality. The rooms are small and the bathroom is very small but how much time do you spend in your room on holiday? The pool area is lovely with enough sun loungers.

Kefalos itself is a very quiet resort which we thoroughly enjoyed. No hassle with sun loungers either by the pool or on the beach. The beach is pebbly. There were plenty of very good tavernas and restaurants. The best meal we had was at the Sydney Bar & Grill. Breakfast was very good at Captain John's. Everyone in the restaurants and tavernas were extremely friendly.

Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Rooms 7-10 have terraces and no doors! Entrance is via the french windows.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 2 week holiday at this hotel. We knew the breakfast was simple but for the price you pay what else would you expect. The Greek economy has been hit badly over the last years, plus the all inclusive hotels have hit the smaller ( and in my opinion friendlier) hotels as hard. I found all the staff and owner to be friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy, the shower never ran out of hot water when we where there sometimes you had to let it run before it got hot but never did it run out no matter what time of day. We have stayed on many Greek islands and to critisise this hotel leaves me speechless. If you want to compare it with a five star resort spa then it cannot compete, but then I would not want to go to a spa resort. I want to go and try the local restaurants. I would like to thank all the staff for the welcome and friendliness.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable 11 night holiday here and were more than satisfied with the room and the friendly staff who were very helpful and made our stay very pleasant indeed.

The breakfast did leave a lot to be desired but as the amount allocated to each guest was very minimal I think they did very well under the circumstances. Also the cost of the holiday was very low so didn't really expect much more.

If we had one criticism it would be the starkness of the building and the fact that the grounds around the building could have been spruced up a bit but apart from that the room service and the beds were very comfortable and would recommend the hotel to anyone. (The snack bar was very good value too).

Would certainly consider returning as Kefalos is a lovely resort.

Room Tip: We were in Room 114 and had a lovely view of the sea.

I agree with mark w, i think some of your earlier reviewers are very picky. Rooms very clean, manager very pleasant, barman pleasant too.The waitresses at breakfast did not speak much, but that may be because they didn't speak much english.( can't all be perfect). Yes there were always people around the bar at night, but they were always friendly and chatty. . Would definitley stay there again.
