“Wonderful Family Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2013

We read the reviews and were impressed. We booked a triple room which accommodated myself, my wife and our son. We had two rooms interconnected which was an excellent arrangement and safe. Although this was on the ground floor, the two balconies had a slightly elevated view and you could see the sea to the left and a mountain directly in front. This was a very peaceful place and run by the nicest of people. The Kokalakis family are very warm, welcoming people who clearly love children and appreciate all that comes with them. During our 10 day stay, it was a regular occurrence that our son was provided with a huge packet of crisps or an ice cream for which no payment was sought. This kindness was also extended to the adults for the odd beer or two here and there. The situation of the hotel is ideal, located directly over the road from the beach where you can also find numerous supermarkets and the local bus stop. There is a variety of bars and restaurants all within a short stroll offering a variety of cuisine, all of which is generally pretty good at sensible prices. These restaurants and bars offer an excellent vista and to watch the sun go down on an extremely pretty bay is a treat. Cocktails are cheap and the chicken souvlaki is to die for wherever you may dine. We went high season but found the resort to be quiet, no doubt as a consequence of the introduction of a large all inclusive hotel nearby. This has clearly affected local businesses and is a great shame as the local people try very hard and are generally to be considered very high up in the hospitality industry. The hotel itself is extremely clean and the swimming pool and surrounding area are excellent. The rooms are typically Greek but sufficient for your needs. If you are holidaying in Greece or her Islands then you do spend a great deal of time outdoors afterall ! Congratulations to the Kokalakis family who are doing an excellent job and we wish them all the very best for this season. We have no doubt of our return to this excellent, warm place to stay which is very much home from home without all the modern amenities us Brits are used to. One good suggestion if travelling with children, you should take a portable DVD player as Greek TV does not pacify the younger generation. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My wife and I stayed in the Kokalakis Beach Hotel for one week start of July. First time in Greece and it will not be the last. Hotel was clean, sitting in the sun eating breakfast looking at the beautiful sea, priceless.

The husband and wife team and their family were most welcoming. They could teach a lot of hotel owners in England how to provide a friendly hotel with mega customer service.

The lady serving breakfast very accommodating and the personal croissants a treat lol.

The swimming pool was clean and best of all no need to get up early and reserve a sun lounger.

Thanks to everyone including the guests for making our very first trip to Greece an enjoyable one.

What other hotel would the owner take you in his car to the old town. A gesture much appreciated.

Air con and room safe included.

We will be back.

Room Tip: Family room very good.

We were staying in Tingaki for a week but wanted to also visit Kefalos during that week. We chose the Kokalakis Hotel because we had spotted it whilst visiting Kefalos previously, and with it being so close to the beach & pretty much in the middle of Kamari Bay the position is ideal. Although we only stayed one night, we would definitely stay there again. The welcome was really friendly, and the whole place was pristine. Our room was quite small but immaculate, with a lovely sea view, a full size fridge and aircon. There were no tea / coffee making facilities, which would have been appreciated. Breakfast was lovely, continental & plentiful. The owners obviously take a great deal of pride in their hotel and it shows.

We have to just keep returning to Kokalakis, its like coming back to stay with family, Nitsa and all the family and staff etc are just great, nothing is too much trouble. Great position across the road from the beach, easy access to great local restaurants, the hotel is spotlessly clean, nice rooms, great views, short trip from the airport, everything is so simple, relaxing, stress free etc - Thanks Nitsa for taking such great care of me and my badly infected mozzie bites - they get me every time - and thanks for making our wedding anniversary special. We have been to many Greek islands/mainland etc but Kokalakis at Kefalos is most definitely our favourite of them all! Make sure to check out Stamatia, Captain John, Argo, Srytaki restaurants, all good food, good position, lovely views, and say hi to Poppy at the Memory Cafe! We don't do trips, but you must do the sunset trip to Zia up in the mountains, it is gorgeous! If you know Kokalakis you will understand - if you don't know it, its about time you did!

Room Tip: Top floor sea facing rooms are best, but even rooms on the back overlook the mountains, so you can...

We visited in mid May, right before high season. The beaches and hotel were very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly! Recommend this hotel without hesitation. It is clean, comfortable, friendly, and has a delicious breakfast. The pool is quite nice as well, though we didn't spend a lot of time at it as the beach beckoned...

Yet another great holiday, always a great welcome by Nitsa and the family, each year they have improved the hotel but they don,t changed. The hotel is very central and as a lovely big pool and a smaller one for kids, both are always very clean also plenty of sunbeds. Nice poolside bar and prices not too bad. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. But it is the people who run the hotel that is the biggest attraction. Looking forward to next year.
