“Worth the wait!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Just back from 2 weeks in Kefalos and by good luck found this taverna on the first night. Virtually situated on the beach the view whilst you are waiting is very easy on the eye and the food is superb. It reminds me of days gone by in Greece in that the cooking is done by Mama and daughter and is cooked to order so you obviously have to wait until it is ready - depending on how many orders they have on the go you could wait up to 50 minutes BUT boy is it worth the wait and you're in Greece so whats the rush!! The difference between Greece of yesteryear and today is that when your food does arrive its hot and altogether- no more cold chips served before your main course arrives!! The family is delightful with Pavlos serving despite being only 14 and Sevvi helping when she has to (she is only 12 after all). Despite trying out other tavernas we ended up going there virtually every night. Thoroughly recommended - just have a bit of patience - you are on holiday after all!!

“Wonderful place, with food cooked by Mama!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

I ate here almost evening during a two week stay in Kefalos. The food is wonderful - you do have to wait as it is all home cooked so exepect a wait of around 20 - 30 minutes for your meal but boy is it worth waiting for.

It is the owners Mum who does all the cooking ably assisted by her daughter and grandson, a very pleasant young man who cannot do enough.

The restaurant also has a number of studios with sea views - I enquired about one of these and was shown around by the owner and since returning to England I have reserved a studio for June 2015 and will eat at the restaurant each day, as they also offer a fine array of breakfast dishes.

If you want a restaurant offering well prepared inexpensive food with a wonderful seating area looking over the Aegean Sea to Turkey this is the place for you.

“lovely greek food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

mostly ate here for two weeks, lovely friendly srevice, very welcoming. the greek dishes were lovely, lamb kleftico, rabbit stifado, fresh fish, chips are freshly made, prawns are massive, most meals come with chips and rice and are very large, never had room for a pudding afterwards. you do have a bit of a wait for any meal as it is all cooked fresh, but your in no rush on holiday and its worth the wait, also try the stuffed tomatoes they come with stuffed vine leaves and of course rice and chips.

“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

This small taverna is located down the side of Jims supermarket at the top end of town, and is virtually on the beach. I have never seen the place busy which is a major surprise as there in nothing really to find fault with. You may find yourself as the only ones there, we have done on many occasions, and as such you do wonder if its open. this is really the only fault i can find, the family are going about their everyday business and you need to let them know you are there. After that the service is steady, you don't get rushed. The food is freshly done, so you do have a bit of a wait, but the wait is worth it, the soutsakakia and the stifado are highly recommended.
