Wonderful location in the little town of Chelsea. Staff is great, food is very good, Reservations are recommended. Slow cooked chicken breast with grilled shrimp was mouth watering. The duck leg was cooked perfectly and extremely filling. Sauces with the meals were very tasty and well presented. Believe all food (meats, fish, vegetables and deserts) is source locally and cooked on site, with some breads etc made on site.

Good day Douglas,

Thank you for your nice review! We are glad to see that we've met all of you expectation. Indeed, everything in you plate comes from regional businesses and farms. We also create each sauce individually!

Kindly,

Chef Jean-Claude

My first time eating there, her fourth. Great service by Patrick, who impressed with his knowledge of the offered vintages and great accompaniment recommendations. We were even given a tour of the various dining rooms, and even got to see the kitchen, the holy of holies. Clean but busy, the way a kitchen should be. People smiling while they are working, another sign people are treated well. Will go back in a heartbeat!

Every time we are in the Ottawa area, we will come here for dinner. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was prepared superbly and delicious, as usual.
This time we came here for a special occasion and the chef presented us with a surprise...a variety of desserts! (see picture)

We go to this restaurant regularly. We are never disappointed and the food and service are always outstanding. Frankly, I hate to write this review because it will encourage more people to go and I am very selfish about this place. However, the lobster brunch, only on weekends in May and June, is too amazing to keep a secret. The format of brunch at LOree du bois is always the same: soup, usually three appetizers and a main course plus dessert and coffee or tea for a fixed price. The soup and appetizers are served "en famille" and the main course and dessert individually. The menu starts with lobster bisque, rich and laced with cognac and lovage, gnocchi s with lobster claws and coral butter sauce, celeriac remoulade with Nordic shrimps and more lobster, coral and Parmesan Tuile. The lobster in every case was moist and perfectly cooked. The main course was a lobster tail on asaragus risotto, garnished with a couple of plump mussels and dessert was a delightful refreshing lemongrass and lime mousse cake. Coffee and tea are included as well. Service as usual was friendly and professional.

We were part of a group dinner at L’Oree Du Bois. It has been a number of years since our last visit. The “good” news is the food has improved. The menu is creative with a nice range of options. Each of the dishes served were very tasty—the lobster bisque, salad nicoise and mushrooms in puff pastry were popular appetizers. The duck confit main course was nicely prepared. Our servers were pleasant, but slow. It was a busy evening for the staff so we did not get their full attention. The problem at this restaurant is its many small dark rooms that get warm very quickly. Yes it has a country home atmosphere, but it can be noisy and stuffy. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the food. So overall, we left reasonably satisfied, but not blown away (given its reputation)

Good day Ianford,

We're pleased to see here that you were satisfied with your meal and we thank you for your good comments. However, I'm sad to see that you didn't quite like the atmosphere and the temperature. We'll definitly be working on it in the futur to accomodate as mich people as possible.
