Found a fantastic package deal on the Oakley Hall hotel website so I thought my wife and I would give it a try. We arrived mid afternoon on the Saturday at this wonderful mansion country hotel in a peaceful area. The welcome was warm and friendly and we were shown to our room in the courtyard which was clean comfortable and pleasant. We spent the afternoon wondering around some of the grounds, some 300 odd acres so only a small part! Dinner and drinks were excellent as was the service. Breakfast was equally good. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something a bit special.

We had a family weekend here and had a great time. Very good food, good service and lovely hotel/grounds but my word of warning regards the bedrooms. We booked 2 executive rooms which were excellent and the Clock tower Suite. The latter has a very impressive spiral staircase leading up to the bedroom and bathroom. It is very novel but making a living area fit into the existing tower has a few drawbacks:
a) The lounge area is smaller than expected
b) The bed is only a double as space would not allow bigger
c) There is no separate walk in shower
d) There are 26 steps and they are steep - but good exercise!

We also booked Clay pigeon shooting on the Sunday and this was excellent - the 2 men who ran it were great(many thanks to them) - strongly recommended for both the young and young at heart.

All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Executive rooms excellent. I think I would recommend the Coach House suite rather than the Clock Tower but the latter is certainly novel.

We've stayed at Oakley Hall three times now, the first being for a friends wedding in 2011. Just love the rooms with their huge beds and extra luxury touches, the staff are so helpful and the food is great, although my only minor downpoint is the restaurant lacks any atmosphere, could almost hear a pin drop even though it was full the last time we stayed.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, but Executive rooms are just that little bit larger.

WOW. Right from start to finish. We arrived to a great welcome and went to our room well out of this world. Very large, tasteful, just perfect it was a late valentines weekend for us as we had both been working.
The bar was a open area and also a library you could sit and drink in
Very nice and relaxing just before dinner. Menus given to study before we went into dinning room and ordered 20 min later lead into a very nice dinning room the food was fantastic and I know good food and service and a very nice wine list.service was second to none could not fault them at all.i asked for a nice port to go with my cheese was brought one I had a taste and was a bit rough but I didn't ask for particular year when the waiter came by he asked I just said it was a bit rough 3 min later he arrived back with another port try this sir. Well now we where talking this was smooth and a delight to drink. Well 3 of them

Over all. Outstanding service, quality food , a real pleasure.

Only one down size. No pool or spa area Please guys invest

We arrived on Saturday morning for a 10am clay shooting session, The instructor is great and we all had fun. They have a wide range of areas to shoot and you feel safe at all times.

The hotel staff are extremely helpful and the head of the restaurant is entertaining and witty. The menu is interesting and the food was beautiful.

The rooms were spacious. We had one in the converted stables and it was well designed and comfortable. The best part of this hotel is the staff and the location. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the stunning grounds is the most peaceful time we have had in a long time. Also, reading the Sunday papers after breakfast in the library is a treat too.

If you want a weekend of action and relaxation, then this ticks all the boxes.

Room Tip: Keep to side of the courtyard away from the hotel if there is a wedding on.
