“Beautiful”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

We visited Olden as part of our Norway cruise with P & O. We were very lucky that the weather was beautiful on the day we visited. We hired bicycles on the quayside for about £30 for 2 bikes for 4 hours. We cycled out towards the glacier which was a breathtaking ride, one of those experiences where you just can't believe how lucky you are to be experiencing such a gorgeous place. The lakes were a heavenly aquamarine and round every bend there was a new, even more wonderful view. We didn't reach the glacier, as we were worried we wouldn't get back to the ship in time, but we did get to the car park where a lot of the coaches stop for people to take photos and we felt pleased that we had made it there on the bikes. I feel very lucky to have experienced such a beautiful part of the world.

“great visit”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

A charming village amidst breathtaking scenery. As we departed, Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' was being blasted out from the shore and the locals came out to wave us off with their flags. It was our first experience of cruising and quite emotional. Thank you Olden.

“One of the most beautiful places on earth”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We did a Norwegian and Iceland cruise. Breathtaking scenery everywhere. But there is something special about Olden. Only a couple of hundred people live here and it is so peaceful and stunningly beautiful. Take a coach ride to the beginning of the walk to Briksdal Glacier and then do the 2 mile hike to the glacier. The river, the waterfall, the scenery, the glacier, everything is just so beautiful. You will fall in love with the area just like I did.

“Picturesque village”

very picturesque village. Very clean. A visit to the 2 churches are a must. Lots of wooden painted houses with mountains climbing up on both sides.

“Stunning location”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

A Norwegian cruise - incredible . But without a doubt Olden shot to the top of my list of places visited - anywhere not just the cruise. The scenery , especially as we were fortunate enough to have glorious sunshine, was amazing. The colour of the water, the waterfalls, the walk to the glacier unforgettable. If you get the chance - GO!

The glacier is accessible by walking it says 45 minutes we took 75 minutes - including photo stops a plenty. Or by Troll car for most the route but still includes a short walk .
