Went with a party, using the little vehicles. You still have a short term to get to the glacier by very picturesque on the way. Recommend looking up at the walls of the valley as you can see where the glacier has scraped the rock in times home by. Arriving at the base of the glacier I just gaped in amazement at the sight of the beautiful arena where the water comes down into a lake, which then heads down the valley in churning river waves.
Further down the valley the water from a large waterfall joins the river which then becomes a fishing waterfall which you have to negotiate to and from the glacier - huge fun but very damp.
Would definitely go back!

The glacier is truly amazing nature at its best. The surroundings are beautiful as well, thick forests cliffs and lakes. We went with an organised trip by bus and there was a 10 min walk from the car but very good paths and lovely scenery on the way there It was very windy and at times wet when we were there but still an amazing sight to see the colours don't forget your camera

This trip is an absolute must for anyone in Olden. The views on the way to the glacier are mesmerising. We paid for a bus trip to the Glacier which took about 40 minutes from the centre of Olden and had a couple of hours to make the walk. The views are so beautiful from start to finish. The walk is easy accept for one section with steps but for those unable to walk there are cars which take you to the glacier at an extra cost. It took us a while to walk to the end as we stopped continuously trying desperately to capture the magnificent views on our ineffective smart phones. The glacier itself is truly amazing and definitively worth the walk. This was a day to remember and a absolute must for anyone travelling to Olden.

Beautiful even though it was a very wet day. Did the climb to the glacier, got soaked to the skin but it was well worth. A totally amazing sight. The troll car would definitely be the easy way up but I would say take your time and do the walk - it can be steep but worth the effort.

A stunning piece of nature surrounded by amazing scenery. The glacier is reducing in size but still awesome to see. Take a troll car up as quite a steep walk, no good if you have mobility issues. Only negative feedback is that the whole place by 1pm was swarming with cruise ship passengers which was a shame, the Fiords are sadly being taken over by these huge monstrosities, should be banned over a certain size.
