This small hotel some 50m back from the long Dassia Beach to the north of Corfu Town is a little gem. The hotel consists of apartments and spacious rooms all of a good standard and exceptionally clean. We were welcomed at the airport by Andreas the owner who set up his business - starting with the taverna he runs which fronts the beach - almost 30 years ago. With some deals, like ours, airport transfers are free. Andreas and Eleni his wife, run the business with the help of a great cook and jolly housekeeper - both of whom have been with the family for years and speak excellent English. The food in the taverna is traditional Greek home-cooking along with some concessions to English tastes when it comes to breakfast ! They aim to please and when I mentioned that my favourite Greek dish was Stifado, they promptly made it for me, although it was not normally on the menu. The same happened with the creme caramel - beautifully home-made again.
The bay provides water sports and boat trips; there is good walking in the mountains nearby; an unobtrusive waterpark and cheap buses run into Corfu Town running every 15 minutes. We have travelled throughout the Ionian islands and this has been one of the highlights. We will certainly return.

Room Tip: Rooms/apartments on the top floor are quieter.
