Telemachos Hotel in Dassia.
All inclusive program is poor, stops at 9.30pm on the dot.
Dining room has no aircon and gets very crowded at peak times making it unbearably hot and stuffy, with poor meal selection and hot meals usually warm and uninviting.
Rooms in the old block are tiny studios with little furniture and aircon costs 95 euros per 2 week stay.
Rooms in the new block are excellent but you can only stay in these if you buy the aircon at 95 euros, otherwise it's the old block with no aircon.
Fans can be hired for 18euros for 2 weeks or nip into town and buy one for 12 euros.
All meals are repetetive and nothing tasty for children, we found many guests with children ate out each night even if they were all inclusive.
The all inclusive drinks program stops at 9.30pm just as the entertainment starts and the bar staff will only serve 2 drinks per person and keep a very watchful eye on guests to prevent stockpiling of drinks on your table.
The entertainment is quite good and varied and usually goes on till midnight, not for kids though.
The hotel location in Dassia is good although it is approached by a fairly steep hill which can take the wind out of your sails if you try and rush it.
Dassia itself is a small, fairly quiet town but has a few good bars/restaurants within easy walking distance, as is the Dassia beach, but it is very stony and uncomfortable to walk on without shoes. Some excellent boats trips/excursions available but book direct in Dassia and not with the rep to keep costs down. Good local bus service into Corfu town for 1.3euros per person each way but the last bus back is 10.30pm and gets packed and if you miss it a Taxi back to Dassia will cost you a small fortune.
We would go back to Corfu again because of the climate and it is a lovely island, but not to Dassia and not to the Telemachos Hotel.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Corfu. We had read the negative comments about the hotel before we went and wer very very concerned, however the hotel isnt that bad... that is as long as you dont go all inclusive!

It is a budget hotel afterall and when used as a base to see the island its grand. Its an amazing place to travel around with so much to see. The best thing that we spent our money on however was the air conditioning! The staff there were all friendly, however I did see that they generally didnt like to be troubled, especially by children! And there was one night porter who seemed to enjoy shouting at anyone that dared come home late with various excuses.

Only food that we ate there was the breakfasts.. and we only did that 2 out of 14 mornings. We opted for the cold version.. bread butter ham and cheese, the alternative looked too dangerous! We also had a good time at the pool bar, the bar men are very friendly. The hill is steep and long and I definately wouldnt reccommend it for anyone with difficulties. We were in the old part of the building that seems to appear in most of the negative reviews, but to be honest I am glad as the newer section and some that are closer to the pool would have been a lot noiser as the entertainment can be heard throughout them,

I would go again to this hotel, its cheap and its somewhere that gives you access to a beautiful island.

We booked this hotel through Last minute.com on a bed and breakfast basis. When we got to the hotel the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good english. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill and was quite a walk even for me and my partner who are in our 20's so i dont know how all the elderly people managed it. The hotel was clean and the bed linen was changed every day. The room was basic but that was what we expected. It had everything that we needed for the holiday. We didnt eat in the hotel and from the comments i heard, i wouldnt had bothered. Other than that, it was very good.

We booked to stay at the Telemachos with our 2 nieces both aged 14. Before we went I was really concerned about all the negative reviews I'd read so decided to contact the agent to request 2 rooms in the new part. I must admit these rooms were quite nice, clearly quite new and clean, although they were not next to each other as I'd specifically requested. I know this is only a 2* hotel and that you just get what you pay for but basically it was dirty, food was awful, clearly on ocassion last nights left-overs had been regurgitated to make something else. We ended up spending a fortune eating out - not good when you've paid for 'All Inclusive!' The staff were very rude, we did try but it was a waste of time, they clearly did not want to be there and made you feel that you were in the way!! I witnessed a member of staff shouting at a young boy for nothing at all. The sunbeds were dangerous, tatty and broken also there was only 40 available for 200 guests. The pool and surrounding area was dirty, bins never emptied and food lying all over the place which attracted wasps - I got stung! Please read the reviews for this hotel, don't waste your hard earned cash on this place. I did write to complain on my return but all my concerns were dismissed! It was without doubt the biggest holiday dissapointment I've ever experienced! I travel abroad several times a year and have stayed in very basic accomodation which was very clean, provided good food and managed by courteous staff! Please take this and others advice and DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!

We arrived at tilemachos having read all the horrific reviews about it and absolutely dreading what we were getting into!!
The good thing about that is that we were expecting worse than we got!!
The management of the hotel let themselves down immediately though with their little air conditioning upgrade scam. We were shown a room that we wouldnt have let our dog sleep in never mind ourselves! It was tiny, filthy and stank of sewerage.50 euros to upgrade to the new block which was nicer but still dirty.
The facilities are very basic with no tv or kettle in the room, also no shower just a bath.
We were all inclusive and found the food edible and occasionally almost nice! The drinks served at the all inc bar were actually quite good and if we asked for a strong one the staff usually obliged! Getting a drink without a wasp swimming in it was a little more tricky! We took the time to chat to the staff so were treated well by most of them...dont take your all inc band off though as the scary German owner lady will give you a right roasting!!
All things considered it was an ok, cheap holiday which we made the most of. Go to the beach for the day cos it is lovely down there and is only a 10 min walk.
If you have booked to got to Tilemachos, dont panic, just go with absolutely no expectations and you may find that you have a good time!! I would be very surprised if you have the holiday from hell but equally surprised if you booked to go back!!
