We were offered a week at the Telemachos Hotel in Dassia because the original accommodation we had booked was closing early for the winter. On reading the reviews we almost didn't go there, although decided to continue with the booking, we were going bed and breakfast but were offered half board at the Telemachos. I really do wonder about the comments some people have left, we have travelled extensively in Greece mainland and islands during the last 37 years, we accept that accommodation in Greece is more basic and the people laid back something we love about the country. We understand that most of the complaints being made appear to be in relation the all inclusive option and drinks finishing at 0930 something that didn't impact in our stay. The breakfast was very good more than we have been offered usually for this level of accommodation and included cereals, fresh bread, yoghurt, butter, honey, eggs, sausage and bacon. We were not really bothered about the evening meal because it was an extra to our original booking although on eating the hotel restaurant on the first evening were pleasantly surprised, and did eat most evenings in the hotel and had lunch out eat day. Evening meal consisted or crisp fresh salad, bread and yes there are chips because this is what some people want, there was also brown rice, pasta and the meat options included pork, lamb, moussaka, fish and goulash with beef. There was also a light dessert melon, a few grapes or jelly. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and the manager couldn't do enough to assist. In relation to the location and on reading other reviews I did wonder if we would need a rope and crampons to get up and down the hill! Absolutely not the hill is nothing to worry about if you have an average fitness level a short incline, a little flat and then another brief incline. I can't comment I the swimming pool because we spent our days either on the beach at Dassia or sightseeing. The room was cleaned each day, beds made and bins emptied, towels and sheets were changed once during the week. The hotel is a little tired looking in areas and maybe could do with a refurbish however I would imagine with the financial problems Greece has been suffering this is probably not an option I the near future. Our room was months top floor tops the old building and we did pay extra for air con, we didn't object to this energy is expensive now! The view from our room was stunning and we saw some lovely sunsets. The entertainment was quite good and we enjoyed the karaoke and Gilbert on two evenings this was obviously amateur although just a bit of fun! The bar staff very friendly drinks reasonably priced cocktails were lovely there we're specials at 3 euros, the barman did warn that one cocktail was quite strong. To sum up remember you do get what you pay for and we consider that this hotel provides very good value for money.

Myself and my partner picked this hotel for our first holiday as a couple and not having many all in experience my expectation were not high but this hotel succeeded in going below them first room smelt of damp and the balcony their was a lovely view of the rolling hills and beautiful landscapes oh and a used condom and litter as in other reviews at first glance it doesn't look that bad but it is so after the first room we changed we ease as it was the beginning of the season and you need to get yourself into the new block clean and basics but over all a much nicer place the staff are rude and spike drinks my gf had only two cocktails and them was unable to stand and was throwing up all night at best the food is bad really really bad
I'm not fussy and a lot of it was the normal chips rice and one meat option but the meats on more than one occasion were undercook after letting the Scottish chef no he said it wasn't to my partner and refused to replace it with another dish I went to the assistant manager who exchanged it straight away their was little to no entertainment until the last night and make sure you get your drinks in early as they are not free from 930 and event then are poor at best. Best thing to do is go bed and breakfast hire a cheap car and get out and see the island two to three days to go all over it Corfu town is lovely and Dassia is a d*** but does have a few nice tavernas put off going anywhere in Greece again which is ashamed the people were generally nice and willing to help

As soon as the bus pulled up out side things went down hill. Male receptionist was wearing a dity t shirt and jeans the first thing he said was I will up grade you for50 euro which we declined he took us to a room which you would not keep a stray dog in absolutely discusting so we asked to be moved as we had Booker a double room and needed a separate room for a foster child he said well I will put another bed in that room (which already had 3 beds in with no room for a chair let alone bed) receptionist became very agitated and terrible attitude. 2nd room was just as bad sink falling off the wall toilet all stained out of 7lights only 3 worked blankets that were on the beds we like old army blankets and a very strong smell of human waist in the room no hot running water which carries a high possibility of legionella. All inclusive was not all inclusive no choices and the Scottish guy also very bad attitude served you from behind a closed counter you got rice chips r spaghetti one choice of meat dessert was water melon thats it. We phoned on the beach to ask to be moved hotels and explained that stopping in this hotel was a health hazard due to the problems we stayed one night which was the longest night of our lives one of the beds had to be held up with one of our suitcases. We then moved and payed for a hotel just along the road the next morning when leaving the owner of the hotel said go I don't care I have got my money you will not get it back (we have got it back) please please please stay away.
