“UNDERWHELMING”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We have stayed here before but stay in June this year wAS 'NOT GOOD'. The hotel was full of Russian children & apparently will be for the rest of the season. The hotel has a block booking for the whol of the summer season with a Russian holiday company! Don't get me wrong i love kids but to be kep awake all night with them running and screaming up & down the corridors isn't my idea of a holiday....so beware! Breakfast was poor, but if you like cold breakfast you're in luck. The lady owner of the hotel was constantly telling us how much the kitchen equipment has cost but to be honest it would have been more effective if she'd turned the pwer on to heat the food up!!! Our overall opinion of this hotel is that it has gone down hill big time, and is only interested in a 'quick buck'...but if you like children and the russian accents and cold food you're in for a treat!

I stayed here for a week in June and for the first day It wasn't anything special but I was satisfied, then the hotel was filled with Russian kids who took over the whole hotel - breakfast area, swimming pool, EVERYWHERE! They also we're extremely loud at night, which made it difficult to sleep through the constant shouting and banging. I think anyone who has booked here for the summer may want to re think unless you like the sound of screaming kids all day and night, as I know for a fact this hotel has a block booking for the summer for Russian students! I also felt as tho the manager Eliana was very fake, rude and didn't care for her customers at all, only interested in the money side of custom. No hospitality skills there what so ever. If staying in Dassia, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Bad service. Rubbish location. Sleepless nights. Rude staff, especially Eliana!

Ok lets just tell it how we saw it. Location is fantastic if you don't mind a bit of a walk up a steepish hill, Great views from the pool facing rooms and not bad from the rest.
Rooms are as most people have said, basic but nice and clean. The beds were quite firm which is to our liking. The aircon worked well and at just €4 a day you can't really go wrong. Toilet/shower room, well if you've been to a budget Greek hotel or s/c apartment then you come to expect a wet room rather than a shower enclosure, not a problem when you get your head around it. (just remember to move the loo roll out of the way)
The pool area is pretty good, lots of sun beds. I just wish the music had been turned down a notch or two, a bit loud if you want to just relax and maybe catch up on a bit of sleep.
We spent the evenings in the village so didn't try the evening food or drink at the bar so I can't pass comment about price or quality. But we did try the breakfast on a couple of occasions, not brilliant I'm afraid. I understand that continental food isn't piping hot, but it was clap cold, even on the last morning we were in the dining room before the food came out and put under the hot lamps, it was still cold.
To all you die hard Brits reading this review be warned, this is not an exclusive to Brits hotel. Not an issue for us we like the diversity, but don't expect to here many English accents round the pool. while we were there it was predominantly Eastern European accents we heard, mainly due to the large party of Russian school kids staying at the hotel. We had no issues with the other guests apart from first thing in the morning (7.30ish) when people let there doors slam shut and as our room was right next to the lift we could hear every word they were saying whilst they stood waiting for it. (I'm not a morning person)
All in all for what we paid £45ish each for a week at the beginning of June not really much to complain about. Would we stay at this hotel again? If it was around the same price then definitely, well worth the money.

Room Tip: over looking the pool but not next to the lift.

I spent several days at this hotel in mid-June 2014 and I liked it. The hotel is 2 stars but it is like a 3 star hotel. From the main street in Dassia you go uphill about 400 m where the hotel is situated in a relaxing area. From its pool area the panoramic view of the sea and the surroundings is lovely. The pool itself is nice and not small, from 1m to 2.6m in depth, with a pool bar having lots of good drinks and a satellite TV (good for the 2014 Brazil World Cup football matches). The prices at the pool bar were a bit less than at a taverna in the main street area, so it was nice to have a drink with the daytime panoramic view or the nighttime matches. The restaurant was next to the lobby area and the food was very good (congrats to the cooks), way above a 2 star hotel - it was full board. Wi-Fi Internet was free everywhere, in the lobby, room and pool area, with a good connection. Room was basic but ok and clean, with a small fridge and balcony, small TV set and air-conditioning. I visited other hotels in Corfu and most of the 3 or 4 star ones have basic rooms, which seems to be a standard in the island. The staff was friendly. The beach is located at about 800m from the hotel (400m from the main street) and it's a sandy one with some pebbles at the entrance, after which it has just sand. The sea entrance is smooth and fit even for small children or non-swimmers. In mid-June the sea water temperature was just fine. When you go downhill from the hotel to the main street (400m), you can find many mini-markets, tavernas and shops, from there you can take a bus to Corfu town for under 2 euro per person, so the hotel is not isolated - its location is good. I really enjoyed my stay at hotel Eliana - I'm not saying you can compare it with a 5 star hotel, but for a 2 star hotel and its price it is quite excellent!

What a shame we didn't get the chance to stay at this hotel!! We booked it through Crystal Travel and turned up at 4.30pm...to find only a painter there! It was closed for redecoration! We chose this hotel specifically because it was located close to where our friend was living so we could visit him. Instead we were sent to another hotel at a different resort, further up the coast and away from our friend..and they weren't expecting us! Check it is definitely open for business before travelling there!

Room Tip: Make sure it's open first!

We found this hotel by pure chance and we fell in love immediately! Everything was really great.
Great location with wonderful view, friendly staff, free internet and pool bar. We especially loved the possibility to have breakfast beside the pool. We have to come back!
