“Good hotel, friendly staff”
Reviewed 11 February 2013

We stayed with my girlfriend for two days. Very nice and clean loft room with nice view to the valley and terace. Great spa in the underground of the hotel - three different sauna rooms, very pleasant experience after skiing. The pool is OK as well. The staff was 100% polite and helpful, we were allowed to use sauna after skiing altough we were already checked-out. Location: we skied at Stubai Glacier so we took car every morning to go there, it's about 15min drive, all good. I had doubts whether the hotel is not too far from the ski resort but the valley is relatively short and locals take good care of the road so no sweat. Good choice.

Clean hotel with good views , lovely pool and spa in a quiet residential area. Simple Ikea style rooms. The week was marred by the constant necessity to check the bill and the glaring errors extended to hundreds of euros. We did note that we were charged 38 euros for a 'very special' bottle of red that was on sale in the local Spar for 8 euros although most of our party were too pickled to judge the quality. In fact it was not a bad little red but the mark up was somewhat disproportionate. We dined out for the rest of the week to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere and somewhat larger portions although I did enjoy the quality of the food. The owners wife was delightful with a charming smiling infant attached to the hip. The man himself appeared to have traded in his silver spoon to entertain himself as a pseudo hotelier. The pair haunted the bar and lobby , dining with their own visitors and at the same time popping in and out of reception to attend to inoperable room keys , baby alarm and phone calls. The maitre d was not a happy chappie and there was clearly some seething fury in danger of exploding , serial killer style, at any second. He was multi tasking in a mostly efficient manner ((aside from the calculation errors) but one felt he may have been happier working elsewhere and resented the role imposed upon him. We had the pleasure of being driven to the slopes by a gentleman receptionist . DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE. He was evidently in greater fear of being away from the hotel for more than five minutes than veering off the road and killing himself, all of us and many other road users. We did not read the hotel information on arrival and duly donned our costumes for the pool and spa. Most relaxing until our eyes alighted upon the naked young men on the recliners with just an Apple Mac to play with. The spa was Finnish requiring the removal of all clothing and I confess we sat in the sauna and steam room Mit Costumes being entertained by the displays of naked manhood as they showered and strutted about. The gentlemen in our party also endured the sight of naked ladies but one was most embarrassed when one of the latter picked up his towel and proceeded to dry herself. This left him with the dilemma of passing through the naked ladies to get another towel or recover his damp towel and be considered some sort of pervert. Our party are clearly far too sensitive.
IF you are punctual, silent, anorexic , uninhibited and mathematically challenged you will be at home!!!

We spend a great week in this extremely comfortable hotel. Our room was spacious comfortable with great view of Stubai valley and the village of Telfes. Very well organized spa area and a wide indoor swimming pool. The Dinner at this hotel is unforgettable. 7 absolute gourmet disches (including in the room rate!!!) The owner Mr. Dominique Oberhoffer is an amazing sommelier and he proposed to us his best wines from Austria and New world. Do not forget to try the Chilean wines. Hotel Oferhofer become our best by far ski vacations hotel

Room Tip: junior suites are really very nice and in very affordable price

I was worried about some reviews I had read but they were totally unfounded. The room was excellent (split level) and the only criticism was there wasn't enough room between the bed and the banister/side of room. It was spotless, comfortable (wish I could have brought the pillows home) and we had a fantastic view of the valley. There was a huge choice for breakfast and the 6-course evening meals were of a very high standard with plenty of food. As per Pam M's review, I could have done with a dictionary! Only criticism - red wine wasn't the right temperature and the bread on the table was a bit stale - they should have just covered it up. Otherwise, excellent. Loved the Gala evening with harpist. The Wellness Centre was very good - just missing a jacuzzi. Hotel provided minibus service twice in morning and twice back in the afternoon to the Schlick 2000 ski area - not quite so easy to get to the Stubai Glacier. I was a bit shocked when we got the bill for extra drinks etc. - felt coffees/teas etc were expensive. Note - the cake at 4pm is part of the ski package, but the drinks are not (?). Very peaceful and relaxing experience until the last evening when there was a large and rather noisy party. Overall, an excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff - would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: If you are larger than a size 10 then split rooms are not so good - not enough space on the upper le...

The three of us are seasoned skiers and enjoyed a really good stay with Dominic and his staff here. Having read some of these reviews we were a tad apprehensive. We need not have worried. The chef's culinary skills entertained us and provided us with a high standard of flavour and balance. I would take a food dictionary if you do not have rudimentary translation skills. On second thoughts, if you are an adventurous muncher, let it happen and guess what the dish is! The waiter has some interesting translations and is great fun. I shouldn't imagine much joy for the complaining vegetarians. Breakfast was comprehensive & hugely varied. The hotel bus took us to and from both Schlick 2000 and Stubai Glacier areas by arrangement and was quick and reliable. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the super Pool and sauna areas which, like all the hotel, were spotless. Our extras for wines & bar reflected the quality served and we had no surprises. All in all, we'd go there again. The only down side of the holiday are the dangerous old cattle class Boeings that Crystal fly which hold no charms when you are bigger than a midget. Somebody needs to take a wrecking ball to them!
But back to the Oberhofer? Yes please!

Room Tip: Ask for the ground floor rooms

We stayed 5 nights .Quiet and clean hotel .Good deal 84 Euros per room with breakfast.Large room-nice view-huge windows.Indoor swimming pool and 3 tipes of sauna-rest area with water beds.We didn-t eat dinner at the hotel- we wanted to have time to see and eat at other places.I think the dinner was a little bit expensive-76 Euros per couple-we ate with 25-40 Euros dinner at other restaurants in the area. The hotel is a good choice for couples-can be a good base to visit the region-STUBAI VALLEY.

so,

First of all we send an email with confirmation than we arrived on 18 of february around 2:00 AM, and we need to be wait from a hotel staff... we ariived at 2:00 AM and nobody wait us, the door was closed, and after 30 minutes one old man come and open the door and call a guy to come to gave us the room... OK, maybe was a "little mistake"

2-nd: In a third day, around 7:00 PM, an administrator woman, named Gertrude, come in a lobby and tols than the floor from our room was damage by us with water ?!?! ... we go toghether in our room, and in a part of the floor was really damage the parquet with water but from month ( ... not in one or two days ) because the underfloor heating was broken some time ago... she insist than this damage was made in last day, and she threatening than she will call the police if we don't want to pay around 1000 Euro for reparing and she was very vehemence. After I show her where was the problem , she go away cursed us. In the same evening I called my bank to block temporarily my CC.

3-rd: In the same day, in the evening we was in a Sauna and relaxation room ( the program is until 23:00 ) ... aront 21:15 - 21:30 o'clock, came two guys from the staff who enter over my whife in the sauna and told her than the sauna and the relaxation room will closed in 5 minutes, and they stay and look at us until we dressed and leave from there....

Mantime they don't say anything about parquet damages....

4-th: Last day to check-out: I go to the reception to check-out, and the guy from there told us than we have to pay something because they already try to charge our CC, buy don't work, I ask him what I must to pay, without one dinner for two ( in the rest of days we eat in a different restaurant, 1 mile ago ), he show us 3 bills from 3 evenings, in total amount of 231 Euro witch including in each bill 4 beers and 2 bottles of wine... I was very perplexed because we don't order in the room anything from them... after a long discussion I saw on the bills the dates, and the dates of the bills was 14, 15 and 16 of february, whan I show hin this...he say than was probably an mistake and became very nice for 2 minutes..... afer that he told us agan than we must to pay in additional 40 Euro for the room ( we already book the room and payed all amount for all days by CC from December 2010 ), because from a CC / website reservatins the add 3% commission tax.... ?! Because I don't wand to have a new discussion I pay that amount and the dinner for two... and surprise, after that he give us from a mistake the print of the transaction from CC witch he try to made 1 day ago:

- 1000 Euro ( for parquet damage )
- 231 Euro for wines and beers..
- 100.5 Euro dor dinner for 2
- 40 euro surcharge for room

Total: 1371.50 Euro..... whan I saw that... he told us vey nice, than was wrong, and take that papares and give us the bill only for dinner and surcharge, witch I payed in cash....

Otherwise, if I don't blocked my CC, they charged us with 1371.50 Euro... so plese be very carefully with this guys....

In fact they try to charge you with some things...if you say ok from shame / inattention you'll pay, if you stay a little and check this they pass over and try fo find other thing.

In our oppinion was a worst experience with a hotel . hotle staff all over the world where we travelled.
