Me and some friends and family stayed here over the weekend as a base to do the tongariro crossing. We had got some vouchers online through yazoom I think it was. The rooms were pretty small but since all you're doing is sleeping they were good for us. Breakfast was just basic continental but enough to get you started for the day. It was a quick trip up to the mountain from national park with transfers organised by the manager and the cost of which was included in the vouchers. Chris, the manager, was able to direct us to the pub next door for dinner when we arrived and didn't mind a later check in. My parents aren't the back packer types but they enjoyed it and dad said it was a good environment to meet people.
Had a great time in national park and doing the crossing. Definitely feeling the pain today though :)
