Had a wonderful 5 days at Le Chai. It had everything we could possibly have needed, all beautifully presented. Friendly advice and recommendations from Jane and Martin as to where to shop and where to eat. So much thought has gone into the renovation and equipping of this most comfortable cottage, with great attention to detail. Next time we visit we shall take up Jane's suggestion to visit Sarlat by train from Bergerac.

“Great accomodation and location”
Reviewed 15 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

The Chai is a well renovated property in a French style with an English touch. We were made to feel very welcome and were pleased to find a number of useful items and foodstuffs provided by Jane and Martin. The accomodation was spacious and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen located in a rural location but only a short distance from Bergerac. The grounds provided interest with animals and a quiet seating area by a stream.
Very good value for money and a place that we would certainly return to.

“One of the best we have stayed in”
Reviewed 21 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Arriving on Sunday with no shops open, no problem for Martin and Jane, they were more than accommodating and gave us what they had for a meal together with their welcome snacks and wine. The house itself was spotless and superbly equipped. We loved it there, close to travel out every day to villages etc and back to relax with barbecue, peaceful and chatting to Martin in evening with glass of wine! We felt like we were in the country and the vista and animals were a treat. Thanks Martin and Jane was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had a wonderful experience at the Clos Verger. The accommodation was perfect and our hostess Jane could not have been more friendly and helpful. The setting was beautiful too. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return.

“Very comfortable, very relaxing vacation at the Chai”

My husband and I stayed at the Chai for four nights in August, intending to spend time in and around Bergerac. Our nine-year-old daughter was with us. The Chai is very comforably equipped and furnished, and Jane and Martin were welcoming hosts. They provided a basket of snacks and a bottle of wine on our arrival, which was much appreciated. We stayed around the house perhaps more than we had intended because it was so comfortable, but getting to Bergerac when we wanted to was easy. We went into town for half a day to take a ride on a Gabarre, a traditional style boat, and have dinner. We went in another day for the weekly market, which was fabulous. There was lots of information at the Chai about things to visit and to do, and we made good use of it.

We would definitely stay at the Chai again.
