I have stayed here a few times over the past few years for business. I have requested my employer book a room here each time that I travel to Manitoulin Island because it feels like I am returning to visit an old friend. It`s not fancy, just homey and differs from the usual hotel-type establishment. I have stayed in the downstairs queen bed room (accessed from the outside) and upstairs in a cozy, carpeted room--both were quaint and comfortable. What really makes this establishment special to me is the owner. I am recognized and welcomed warmly. Breakfast (eggs made to order, bacon or ham, juice, coffee, toast) in the rustic dining room is often accompanied by a friendly chat. Dinner can be requested so it is not necessary to go out after a long day and search for a place to eat. The location is close to downtown.
