..but the ADVENTURE!!
..as a Biker..this is the truth..
& the SILVER BIRCH"S RESORT was defiantly an ADVENTURE!!!
The Web site caught our eye while looking for a place to stay for our ride around the island.. as we read thru the site...we felt this place's .. layed back, good time, rustic vibe's... sounded like our kinda people! ...& when we arrived & Racheal welcomed us to the Family...we knew we'd found a place where we'd feel at home!
Racheal was Friendly Accommodating & Sweet .. & Corey..he was a GOOD TIME!!..even took him for a ride on my Harley (with a cast on his foot ) along side my husband who took thier daughter on his bike. We met many new & Interesting friends over the couple of nights we spent...& wished we'd had a few more days to stay...but as part of any good adventure..each one must come to an end..so that another may begin..& who know's the roads may take us home to Silver BIrch's Resort again ..some day...

Hello friends ! Thank you so very much for your kind words. Not only did you find adventure but you brought it with you. It was a pleasure sharing time with the two of you. Thank you for taking the time to give the "kids" a ride on the bikes, thank you for hanging out on the deck with us all and mostly thank you for your friendship. I wish you both a fantastic summer season and look forward to hearing your bikes ride in again someday.

We were fortunate to find this beautiful site for our trailer and the hospitality by the owners can only be described as caring and helpful in every respect. The view of Honora Bay, the privacy provided by large secluded lots and the fishing are a dream come true. The cottagers and other trailer travelers are friendly and sociable. For those who like the feeling of community, meeting new people or just relaxing by the fire at night, this is the place to be. A rustic atmosphere surrounded by huge trees, windswept shores and breathtaking sunsets make this truly our Island home for the summer. Special thanks go out to Rachel, Cory, John and family for allowing us to become part of your family.

We found this resort online. The pictures looked like it was absolutely beautiful. When we got there, we came to find out it was pictures of the house/ office, not of the cabins. The cabins were unfinished and the resort itself needed lots of attention, grass not cut, trees grown in on trails. We initially paid for 2 nights and decided to only stay one night. The next day, when checking out, they tried to refund the one night on the interac on their end it was declined, meaning they had no money in the account. She told me she would send me a cheque in the mail and we would have it by the time we returned home. It's been over a month, still no money. We would not recommend this place. We were on motorcycles and had to ride on about 2 kms of gravel, this was unknown to us.

Hello and thank you for your review of our resort. The pictures are of the cottages and can be accessed through our website that clearly states which cottages are which. We are renovating two of the 23 cottages here and this does take some time, I apologize if this was a bother to you. The natural look of the place is something that we try to keep as it is part of the " get away from the every day " feeling here . As for the interact machine, you cannot refund money to a debit card anywhere in any establishment. This does not mean that there is no money in the account. Motorcyclists come here all of the time and this is the first complaint that anyone has had about the gravel roads on Manitoulin that I have heard. We actually host the Kawartha Charity riders here every year for the Providence Bike Rally and they come and go every day. I do hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer season and invite you to come and stay here with us again.

We just got back from our week stay at Silver Birches. I was disappointed as we were told that the pool was working and when we got there it had been obviously broken down for some time and would need major repairs. When we asked Rachael she said it would be fixed the next day and nothing was ever done throughout our stay. The other family that we went with, has been there a few times and spoke with Rachael and she reassured them that the Pool was available and working as in the past there has been something wrong with the pool. My kids were looking forward to the pool and if I had known that it was down again I would never have booked at this resort. I will never return here as there is always an excuse for the pool not working. Its really too bad because the resort is nice. The Cabin that we stayed in was big and renovated which was good. My suggestion is that they no longer advertise the pool as part of the resort amenities. Also looked for the Restaurant that they advertise and there was no restaurant on the resort (?)

Hello friends. Thank you for your constructive criticism about the pool. It has been an ongoing issue and has been looked at since your stay. We found the problem and are currently working with a pool company. Yes, the resort is a great place to be and is beautiful, thank you. The restaurant on our website is being advertised for 2014 and is clearly stated. We do have over 3000 feet of natural shoreline that all guests enjoy to swim in. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer season and do hope to see you again !!

We went to silver birches for our Honeymoon and we got we we wanted ...secluded, no phone, tv or Internet so we paid attention to each other with no distractions which is how a honeymoon should be! And the hosts Rachel and Corey were so hospitable and friendly! Their daughter even taught me how to fish! We love this place, the cottage we rented was perfect, we sat on the back porch while watching the sunset !!! The next cottage was far enough for us to have our privacy ! It as just peaceful and you will
Be able to truly appreciate nature! We are going back this summer! so Rachel and Corey see you soon! I'd give the hotel a perfect 10!!!!

I’d like to offer a quick thank you to Rachel, her father and their whole entourage of jolly family and co-workers who made our stay at Silver Birches a fun and adventurous one. Not only stunning scenery and location, but the staffs work to restore the whole camp was uplifting, comforting and a relief to see the new owners care enough to restore the old rustic look of the whole camp, as well as the offer of some home conveniences. Although there is a lot of work ahead of them, I would gladly offer my recommendations to anyone who would consider going to Manitoulin Island for a stay of any length and stay at the Silver Birches Resort. I have yet to see any establishment so eager to please their customers as much as Rachel was happy and willing to make everyone around her just as happy as she is.

From us: Shawn A. Pearce/Christine Broeze/Lynne Raney/Paul Raney
A very special thank you all.

The shoreline is clean and clear of reeds of swamp and the wind from the lake and the terrain makes this area suprisingly free of bugs. We have our own Spoon and Ladle Hiking Trail. Our cottages are well spaced with approximately an acre of land and the waterfront cottages have their own provate shoreline. We are looking for people who are "Silver Birches" material.
