My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights when we attended the Jim Clark Rally as timekeepers. From the first night we received a warm and friendly welcome from David and Sarah the owners. We loved the 6ft bed in our room (Miller) the cosy bathroom with roomy walk in shower and fluffy white towels towels. The attention to detail really lifts this place above the ordinary. Molton Brown toiletries, sockets for charging your phone, fresh milk in flasks rather than the annoying sachets. The Scottish breakfast was delightful, with soft haggis and black pudding and potato cake.Freshly brewed coffee from the bar or even a latte if you desire. The pub is a local hub and offers morning papers and they have an Italian night on Wednesday (which we sadly missed, but I did try the lasagne one evening and it was lovely).Fish and chips on Friday night, lovely fresh battered Haddock and the locals can get takeaway. We did not book this place as it was done by the organisers of the rally but I would not hesitate to stay here again and would heartily recommend it.

The Plough is our local family run pub with the warmest of welcomes from Sarah and David. Since Sarah learnt how to bake an authentic Italian pizza, every Wednesday is Italian night. Last night we treated ourselves to what turned out to be a true taste of Italy. For starters hubby and I had the sharing platter which was a delicious selection of meats, cheese, artichokes, green olives, pepperdew peppers and sun dried tomatoes. For our mains hubby chose the homemade beef lasagna whilst I chose a thin crust stone baked pizza with 5 of the toppings available. As I wanted to have a dessert Sarah wrapped 3 slices of my pizza for me to bring home. Then came to dessert dilemma; tiramisu or caffe affogato? Solution? We shared the caffe affogato and the homemade tiramisu. Ottimo cibo.

What a great place. Great hosts. Such a warm welcome when we arrived. Relaxed, nothing too much trouble.
The rooms are lovely. Very quirky and exceptionally clean. Great beers and local gin is good too.
A definite - ‘we will be back’ . Highly recommend a visit
