“A lovely experience”

Ruswarp Pleasure Boats

The rowing boats in Ruswarp are a great way to see this part of the county. They are open everyday and charge £3 per person per hour. The boats are sturdy and stable and can comfortable seat 4 people. 5 if two choose to row together.
The best thing about this boat hire is the freedom given. Customers are simply told not to pass the second river side café at the next village of sleights. This is a GOOD row away. We had the boat for an hour and rowed up stream and never even saw the first café! the bankside is lovely. Take some bread to feed the duck and swans (there are even a few chickens on the banks as well!)
We are planning to return to here when we are next in the area and hire the single kayaks with the aim of reaching sleights.
All I all a lovely afternoon out!

Came across this by chance and glad we did.

Canoes are available but we hired the rowing boat for an hour.

You can go up river to sleights but are doing well if you manage it in the hour.

Both daughters had a great time in the boat although steering was a bit of an issue at times.

Life vest are provided by the operator of the boats.

Didn't plan to call here but it was well worth the money for hours rowing. Staff friend and helpful. Will be back again once learnt how to row a bit better, but still had a great fun even if we did hit one or two trees on the way up river.

We spent a lovley morning on these boats only £3 per adult £2 per child per hour a lovely way of spending family time together my kids are 9 and 7 and really enjoyed them selfs. Turning around was a bit tricky we hit a tree but soon recovered. Highly recommended.*****

Good old fashioned fun in either a rowing boat or a canoe.
The whole family joined in, the youngest being 11 and the oldest
83. The couple that run the pleasure boats are very genuine friendly people. We have been visiting this part of Yorkshire for
many years and always make sure we fit a ride in the boats in.
