We were staying in the old ticket office so phoned across as it does say in the booklet at the old ticket office that the pub now does food when I phoned them they told me they do not do food yet so I can only imagine they will do soon but as of June 2018 they do not.

sadly at the moment there is no tenant landlord just different bar staff standing in so there is no food, although on my birthday the bartender brought us a cheese platter over which was really thoughtful and decent cheeses from jacksons, the butchers up the road, good view over the river at the back and with the steam trains passing it's a time warp. doesn't open until 5pm, 3pm on sundays,

My wife and I enjoy walking and often walk between Whitby and Ruswarp along the railway many times with the North Yorkshire moors steam engine as our companion. Inevitability we end up in the Bridge Inn either for coffee or more often something stronger and always receive a warm friendly welcome. If the weather allows we sit outside in the pleasant rear beer garden. It's always been a haven for us on our walk and we will be returning very soon.

We called late on a Saturday evening for a couple of drinks on the way back to our hotel. Very friendly female member of staff and nice locals. We were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely return again!

6 adults and 2 children struggled in blizzard conditions to get there - on a Friday evening in March - only to be told there was no food. Really disappointing.
