Thank you for the kind words. It is written that you can sit in bed and watch the nice view. It is not so easy to see the nice view from the bed, really :) But from the terrace/balcony or even the bedroom window it is possible!

“A beautiful cottage on a beautiful island - all you could want and more!”
Reviewed 26 July 2011 for a stay in July 2011

We arrived on Madeira later than expected due to minor flight delays, so as a consequence arrived later than originally expected at 'The Stables' but were met with broad smiles and the wide open arms of the property owners. The property was exactly as described, it was clean and tidy and had everything you could want. When we booked there was no mention of a television or iron in the property description but in fact both were there and ready to use (the television hooked up to an international satellite decoder/dish). The property's location demands a car as it's slightly away from from the nearest town of Calheta, but The Stables does have off road parking right outside the front door under the shade of beautiful vines. If you visit during the month of September you will even be able to help harvest the grapes (of which there are thousands!!). The hosts are some of the nicest people you'll ever be lucky enough to meet and supplied us with copious amounts of fresh grown potatoes, onions, herbs and even bananas. Our hosts really helped make a good holiday in to a fantastic holiday, and by reading the comments made by the previous guests in the comments book everyone has had exactly the same experience as ours. We thank you for your kind and welcoming smile Ascencao, and we thank you Jose for your endless stories.

“Fantastic Family Holiday”

The service was excellent, we felt as if we were part of the owners family. They brought us fresh fruit and veg from their gardens every day. The villa is located within the owners small vineyard, the grapes are literally hanging above your head and they taste delicious when the owners share them. The villa is a 2 minute drive from the main town of Calheta, although there isn't a great deal to it, there is a good beach, a supermarket that has all you'll need and a large hotel and Marina. As a family with 3 young children we would highly recommend. You will though need a car to get around the island as there is so much to see, you'll also need a camera as the views are stunning.
