“Warm and friendly staff - great location”
Reviewed 3 January 2011

We were moved from the Media Luna Resort and Spa on the opposite side of the island because it was not ready (still under construction). This small boutique resort was very quaint and has a fabulous location on the best beach on the island of Roatan (West Bay).

Because of our circumstance we where given a large one bedroom condo directly on the beach with a huge balcony. We did have the opportunity to check-out the regular rooms and they are very small with no real sitting area. We were very glad to have the condo.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and organized a beautiful Christmas dinner poolside. If you are a vegatarian like myself you won't find too many options at their buffet. I did let them know that I don't eat meat and they did try to accomodate me. The seafood was amazing.

The beach is beautiful, the rooms are really nice except for the small beds, full instead of queen size. The water, pool and ocean is always warm, the food was mixed everyday and the drinks were included also. The Staff was always cheerful and very helpfull. I would recommend to anyone wanted a relaxing vacation.

We had a wonderful stay at La Sirenas Resort on Roatan Island and without hesitation highly recommend this hotel. First and foremost, Guissepe and his staff deserve all the credit for running a beautiful, relaxed and informal resort which caters to a clientele who prefers a small and quiet resort. Guests were mostly middle-class Italian and a few Canadians. We look forward to coming back to this resort for years to come.

The staff:
Guissepe who treats his guests as family went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Hotel and kitchen staff worked very hard to maintain the high standards set by this establishment, were friendly and warm regardless of tipping.

The resort:
The stylish hotel and courtyard, built in the style of Mediterranean villas and its amenities are of recent construction and include comfortable beds, stylish furniture and spacious modern bathrooms. The small pool and its fountain are romantic and the focus of the inner courtyard, as well as its well tended gardens. Of note is the easy access to the wonderful beach — 15 feet from the hotel at the very most! The dining room is on the small side but the hotel staff make the most of it and go out of their way to make you comfortable. When weather permits, the courtyard is magically transformed as staff set the tables out with candles for guests to dine alfresco. It is also possible to dine out at not extra cost at two other resorts connected by the same parent company (HM Resorts).

The food:
The food was some of the best we have had at Caribbean resorts — unpretentious, healthy, (no fast food here)delicious and always featured meat, fish and vegetarian options daily. Breakfast options included eggs any style, sausage, mountains of bacon, and an assortment of cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. Perfectly cooked aldente pasta is available everyday on account, I presume, of the European clientele. Fresh fruit was also varied and abundant with all meals. Snacks were also served in the afternoon at the beach or by the pool before dinner. Cold and creamy Honduras ale was available at all times. It should also be pointed that the staff made cocktail drinks using fresh local fruits and not with colored pop juice as in many other Caribbean resorts. Do try the pineapple or lemon daiquiris.

The Beach:
If you are into snorkeling and diving you will find paradise here. Swim for 15 minutes and you can be on a pristine coral wall with 60 feet of clear visibility and teeming wildlife.

Diving:
Wether you turn left or right from the hotel beach, within 200 hundred feet or so you will hit a Pady certified diving shops with friendly polyglot dive masters.

Excursions:
We would highly recommend the interesting ecologically minded excursions out of the resort if only to meet friendly Hondurans and witness how hard they work to make a living.

Travelling in Central/South America During the Easter Holiday:
We travelled during Easter week the beach was noisy with loud music but the evenings were quiet. However we were informed by other travellers that this area is normally very quiet. On the other hand Easter week was a bargain.

hello everyone, I've just come back from a holiday week at the Hotel LAS SIRENAS - ROATAN. The hotel is situated on the beach in West Bay, it's small but very well-kept, the level of services is high. The rooms are very clean and nice.
The food is of good quality and the staff is very kind, available and efficient. In the morning and in the afternoon refreshments, pizza and fruits are served on the beach.
It's a very quite resort, if you need a little bit of animation, you could go to the nearest Henry Morgan.
Assistance in place is gived by Mario, an available, discret, kind, simple, nice, etc. boy. I could describe it in many ways, but I just say that HE IS SPECIAL!!
Then there's the manager, Giuseppe, an italian boy very efficient, availabe, and punctilious in everything he does but ...... don't ask him how is an hermit crab (PAGURO), he migth answer you that it's a TAPIRO!! :-)))
A sore point of this holiday were the "mosquitos", althougth I took precautions against them (autan/off/oil) I have been completely eaten up by them!!!
The sea is a spectacle of nature, can not ask more!!!

My husband, myself, and 5 year old son had a reservation at Las Sirenas Resort scheduled to check in on October 31, 2009. Our reservation was booked through Tropical Rez Vacations and paid in full. Upon arrival at the airport we did not have a driver to meet us as promised. We waited nearly 45 minutes before borrowing a phone from Hertz Rental Car company to call the hotel. No answer after many attempts to call the resort. Finally after calling Tropical Rez and speaking to a very unhelpful agent we chose to take a cab and be reimbursed by the travel company. When we arrived at the Sirenas Hotel it was completely closed. Only a security guard on the beach. We were told to drive to another hotel owned by the same company for help. When we arrived at a very dumpy run-down property we were received by an even less helpfull front desk agent. No appology, just a room key to stay at a very dirty hotel, food out on counters all afternoon with out refrigeration, and one pool about the size of most american hot tubs. We refused to stay there and insisted that they put us in another property equal to what we reserved and researched on line as Las Sirenas. Eventually with much arguing we were moved to the Myan Princess another property owned by the same company. My advise, do not book with this company at all. Try another property on the island. Also be aware that there have been 5 murders of tourists in 4 months on the island. Take caution and be aware of your surroundings.

We traveled to Roatan for a few days with adults, 20 somethings and young kids in our group. We got an all inclusive package (drinks and meals included) and rented one of their condo rooms. It was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with kitchen, living room and dining area. Living room had a pull out sofabed. There was also a large patio with table and 6 chairs overlooking the beach and ocean. Very modern and clean. Because Roatan is not yet that populated with tourists, there was not a lot of people there, which is nice. The restaurant served good food, and snacks at 4pm each day. The beach is very clean and pretty. There are about 4 or 5 resorts on that strip of beach. Las Sirenas is sister resort to Henry Morgan. Mario was the name of the person who acted as our personal concierge. He found a bucket and sand toys for our kids to play with. He also took us on a free tour of part of the island and took us up to see a lighthouse with great views of the ocean. Everyone gave us good service. They can arrange tours for you if you like, and there are souvenir vendors right next to the hotel on the beach. There are also paddle boats and rowboats for rent as well. The pool is small, but very pretty and nice. It doesn't matter the small size, as not very populated there. If you are taking the ferry from La Ceiba, be forewarned, as I got very seasick getting to Roatan, but the ride back was smooth sailing - depends on the current. Also, there are many mosquitos on the beach - bring your repellent or baby oil does the trick also. I would go back in a heartbeat to Las Sirenas.
