We booked an excursion through Island Marketing, which was 1/2 the price of the ship's. When we exited the pier, we were met by an IM representative who assigned us to a guide to take us to West Bay. This lady took my wife and me in her personal car. We were taken to Banarama, which is just OK, and the reason I gave this outing only 4 stars. However, we were provided beach chairs and an excellent view of the ocean. Our guide stayed with us the entire time, and watched our things while we walked down the beach to the best snorkeling area. However, the day we were there it was rainy and the water was not as calm as usual. The snorkeling was OK, but not like we were expecting. On a brighter and calmer day it would probably have been better. Later, we snorkeled in Cozumel and had a much better experience. The local music and the provided "one drink" at the Facility were quite good. However, the changing area left something to be desired. All in all, it was good value for a day's outing. Other than tip, we paid $33 each.
