We have now been to Roatan a few times, staying at West Bay Lodge. The owners Milos and Celeste treat their guests as family and friends. Our room was spotless every day, the towels and linens always smelled clean and fresh. They put beautiful flower arrangements in our room. The pool was super clean the whole time we were there. You will always find great coffee in the morning which is nice to wake up to. They seem to go out of their way to accommodate guests whether it is needing early breakfast to go diving or arrangements for the airport.

You won't find find nicer people anywhere to help you get around the island and they have great ideas for things to see in Roatan. We always seem to make friends down there, with the friendly laid back feel. The location is also just far enough off the beach to feel peaceful, but close enough to walk down to the beach in a couple short minutes. One of the highlights is walking around in the evening and seeing a huge amount of the cute crabs. They are entertaining to watch. You are also close enough to walk to the best snorkeling spot in the area.

We were able to visit the spa again this time and it is even better than before. If you want to try some great food, just even stop by for that. All the staff was very professional and courteous. We feel lucky to make this stop part of our much needed vacation.

Just got back from staying at West Bay Lodge and overall it was an OK stay. I'll say that it's one step up from camping and of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but I guess my expectations were higher. This is definitely a budget hotel and VERY rustic. Some of the beach towels they let us use had stains on it, some of our towels in the bathroom had holes, there was a stain in the toilet -- it was one of those hotels where you definitely should wear flip flops everywhere, even while taking a shower.

Needs some serious updating, but for a little over $100 a night, you do get what you pay for. Breakfast was fine, Celeste and Milos and the ENTIRE staff were WONDERFUL and the location can't be beat. It had free WiFi so that was awesome. It's very laid back. We stayed in bungalow #1 and it was SMALL. Definitely one of the smallest rooms I've ever stayed in.

If you're on a budget, stay here. If you're not, I'd recommend to go somewhere else.

West bay lodge is located about 200 yards down a side street off the beach (a short and easy walk) in west bay in a great location for both beachfront bars/restaurants and off-beach options. The owners are very friendly and have great attention to detail for a relaxing stay (including free laundry service!). nice pool area, good sized cabins, tasty breakfasts included. If you are not looking for an all-inclusive beachfront resort on roatan, west bay lodge is perfect.

There's not much I can say that isn't already documented here about West Bay Lodge. The bungalows are quaint and cozy (althought the beds are bit hard), the pool is great, the setting is gorgeous, and the food is fantastic. Coconut and banana trees are everywhere, as are beautiful native flowers. Celeste and Milos and all the folks working for them are friendly and helpful with whatever you want to do, even if you just want to kick back and beach bum for a few days. We got the Ultimate Rejuvenation Package at the spa for my wife and she thoroughly enjoyed all the services. She says that the massages she received there are some of the best she has ever had, and she's had quite a few. It's a short walk to the beach, and I think it's probably the perfect distance away to cut down on traffic and noise but still have easy access. They have a deal with one of the beach front places for chairs and umbrellas. There is a little strip mall across the street that has most anything you could need while there. If wee go back to Roatan, we will definitely stay here again.

Where to begin ... West Bay Lodge is about a 3 minute walk to one the most beautiful beaches you'll ever find. 8 bungalows, a pool, Day Spa and Celeste's Island Cuisine Restaurant are tucked into a hillside surrounded by beautiful gardens and paths that connect the bungalows, pool, Spa and restaurant. A game room is being added as we speak. The bungalows are well equipped with a private bath, kitchen, TV/DVD, microwave, AC and a porch with hammocks, a table and chairs. Wi - fi is available as well as cell phone rental. The mini fridge comes stocked and the prices are very reasonable for snacks, sodas, beer and wine. The location is excellent as it allows quick and easy access to the beach and tons of great restaurants (not to mention the best off shore snorkeling and diving you can imagine) as well as a nice respite when the beach gets crowded at "cruise ship time" A different breakfast is featured and included each day at WBL and Celestes also does fantastic lunch and dinners, their baleadas are the best. The Spa is top notch, my wife and I both got the 3 hour full treatment and highly recommend it, Jamillete was unbelievable. This is our third time at WBL, once with just me and my wife and the last two times with the kids, twins age 10 and our 15 yr old son. The best part of WBL is the owners and staff. Milos and Celeste literally treat everyone like family from the moment you arrive. When we were at the beach and the kids were ready to leave, they would say they were going home (not back to the room, hotel, etc. like on other vacations) that gives you a good indication. They really do everything in their power to make sure you have everything you want or need. That also includes the staff, from Monica and Sopia who cook and clean the rooms, to Marlin and Troy who serve at the restaurant/bar and will take you on tours, book your excursions, (try the zip line), and gladly answer all your questions. I really can't say enough good things about West Bay in Roatan and WBL. The downside, if there is such a thing about Roatan, is the no see ums - some people don't get bothered (me for example) while my wife seemed like a favorite target, try coconut oil or the local environmentaly friendly blue wave bug juice (sold locally and at WBL) WBL has become like a second home to us, and we can't wait to go back again. If you are looking for a truly memorable vacation and place to stay it's West Bay Lodge !
