Arrival: We were met promptly, politely and efficiently at the airport by Juan Carlos
Location: Perfect for us – 2 minute walk to the beach Quiet. Convenient shopping across the street for groceries, pharmacy, souvenirs, coffee shop.
Check-in: Prompt, polite service from Melony; we were introduced to other guests and had a rum punch in our hands within 10 minutes.
Accommodations: Queen bungalow #1, beautiful view of pool and turtle pond. Small, clean room, perfectly fine for a one week stay. All appliances in good working order with nicely stocked fridge. We spent most of our time on the deck. Housekeeping did a great job.
Pool was sparkling clean every day.
Restaurant: Excellent breakfasts each day. Attentive and friendly staff, Danny and Nicky
Grounds: Well maintained by an array of friendly staff.
Pets: An assortment of friendly cats, a caged watusa (Shakira), 4 parrots and several turtles tended to by the always smiling, Angel.
Spa: Wonderful aromatherapy soaks, massage. Friendly and well trained staff
Staff: Milos, Celeste have assembled a wonderful staff in all aspects of service: Oyuki, Melony, Danny, Nicky, Angel, Monica; kitchen and spa staff - we thank you for every kindness and smile.

Special Memories: Impromptu pizza night with staff and guests. Snorkel trip with Milos. Private lobster dinner on our deck. Birthdyda celebration featuring Oyuki’s delicious birthday cake. Spa treatments. Celeste’s broken crackers. Kind and interesting fellow guests.
Outside of West Bay Lodge: Snorkeling from the beach. Crab races and fire dancers at Bananarama. Dinner at Iron Shore Restaurant. Juan Carlos – island tour. Coconut shrimp at Beachers. Banana Doughnut Man.

Summary: Our first trip to Roatan, but not our last. One of the best tropical vacations we have taken. The staff and the service are top notch and set the mood for the entire resort.
We love the atmosphere of an intimate resort as opposed to the mega size all-inclusives.
For us, travel is about making connections with staff, fellow travelers and local citizens. West Bay Lodge certainly delivered.

Room Tip: Cabin # 1 - lovely views, fine for one week but next year we will stay for two weeks in cabin # 5...

I must echo what most of my fellow reviewers have said about this hotel, it's a wonderful spot. The rooms are basic, but clean and charming. The restaurant is excellent. In addition to breakfast, we enjoyed a lunch and dinner - all were excellent. As it turned out, being off the beach had some perks. You didn't have to deal with the crowds if you didn't want to. The staff are excellent and all of their arrangements were flawless.

One recommendation, bring a flashlight. I don't know if this is normal, but we had power outages every day of our five day stay...anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours. The hotel has a generator, but it can only do so much. The hotel provides candles in the room, but we left the windows open (excellent breeze), so of course the candles blew out.

I really don't know where to start. Beginning I guess. They picked us up at the airport right on time. Was on the beach in one hour in the water. The place was even better than imagined. We were in bungalow#5. Two bedrooms, full kitchen tv the works. Front porch was great with couch and hammocks. The best part was the staff. Not once did we walk by and they weren't smiling. Tells you something about the owners. We found out first hand how great they were. They had to go to do errand we tagged along. Supermarket is down the road a piece. We love going to markets and we went to 3. Also had great tacos. Spent the afternoon with milos and celeste and felt like we were home. Wonderful location, wonderful workers, wonderful owners!! It's so close to the beach , but so intimate, Breaksfast are great ! Spa great. Food great. Does it sound like paradise it is . Parrots and animals were a nice touch. If you go to West Bay this is the place. We went the rainy season and yes we had rain for three days but three nice ones. If you snorkel go left all the way down to the point. Even saw squid. If you want a comfortable relaxing no worry resort this is the place. Owners take the best care of you. I travel a lot, but this place is my favorite. I miss Roatan, West Bay lodge. and my kitty.

Stayed here for a week in January. Excellent choice. While not on the beach itself, it is an easy and short walk to the best beach on the island. The owners are wonderful and helpful. The facilities are not posh but very clean. The setting of the hotel incorporates the natural vegetation of the area which makes you feel that your more secluded than you really are. Five stars all the way.

Fabulous place to stay when on Roatan. Milos and Celeste have created the perfect combination of Caribbean Culture, Comfort, and Charm. Short walk to the best beach on the island. Quiet, peaceful pool/deck area for relaxing, surrounded by tropical trees, plants, and birds. Great meals on site and a day spa, which my wife appreciated. Melony, Davinci, and the whole staff were helpful and happy to be of service. Definitely going back again !!

We found West Bay Lodge by accident, having ended up in a dismal hotel booked on Booking. com (Seagrape Plantation). My husband, 15-year-old son and I loved our 3-night stay here, and would go back again in a heartbeat. Where to begin?? The location is wonderful; just a few minutes walk to the most popular beach, West Bay, but a safe distance from the beach crowds and huge corporate hotels. We enjoyed snorkeling right from the beach, though the reef is badly degraded and a boat tour to a more pristine located would have been better, had we enough time. The hotel's front desk staff are cheerful and helpful. Our bungalow (#7) was spacious, beautifully decorated, had comfy beds, a deck with hammocks, and was fitted with quality appliances, such as a Cuisinart coffee maker. Breakfast is included, and the menu varies each day (banana waffles, pancakes, comida typica, etc). Almost forgot to mention the three friendly parrots that patrol the grounds and hold court in the restaurant. We stayed during the peak period and paid $165/night for three people, well-worth the truly lovely experience.

Room Tip: We adored room #7, which is upstairs and has a view toward (though not of) the sea.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at West Bay lodge. The owners Milos & Celeste have a great crew who went above an beyond at all times to make sure we enjoyed our stay at West bay lodge. Davinci provided us great service everyday and helped set up some really memorable tours. Everyone was so nice, always smiling and most helpful. A last minute flight change resulted in a stay in the condo and we loved it! The condo was new, had a full kitchen, 2 bed 2 bath, washer & dryer we absolutely did NOT want to leave! What a paradise. Can't wait to return. Highly recommend the laid back atmosphere of West Bay Lodge only 2 minute walk to the beach.

Room Tip: Staying at West Bay Lodge also enables use of Bananarama's resort on the beach.
